Business Information:

Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification. The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore.
IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.

Mission Statement:

In our R&D department in Chennai, we are currently looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our team of R&D engineers. Are you interested in developing real-time control and protection software as well as simulation models for medium voltage high-power grid-connected converter applications.

• Contribute to global R&D projects in the field of Power Conversion.
• Develop, test and document real-time control and protection software for power converters.
• Develop, test and document power converter and system simulation models Support on-site power converter installations and commissioning at an international level.
• Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

• Master's degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics and Control.
• Industrial experience with power converters and real-time control software is an advantage.
• Proficiency in the use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD and Power Factory.
• Experience with structured text language as well as python programming would be an advantage.
• Team spirit with the capacity to work independently, complemented by a quick intellect and well-developed analytical skills.
• Experience working in an Agile development team would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
