Position Overview

The Regional Oncology Liaison is responsible for maximizing the potential of product in key accounts, whilst staying within budget within the defined region. Key activities are delivering the selling messages, providing a high-level of customer service toward being a best-in-class assay provider, and solving challenging problems in a dynamic environment. He/she will have a track record in oncology sales (ideally breast cancer) and with existing contacts of private healthcare clinics/hospitals in this region, the individual will engage with physicians and KOLs to further develop sales in existing and new accounts. He/she will also build and maintain comprehensive understanding of his/her customer needs and develop key account records to manage these relationships.

Reporting to the Country Manager, France, the Regional Oncology Liaison will join a small organization in start-up phase, have an entrepreneurial mind set with an ability to work autonomously, support the country manager with sales leads out of the region and have a willingness to travel where necessary. Furthermore, they will attend international and national conferences/meetings. Due to the complexity of medical oncology diagnostics, a person who has a medical/scientific background with an ability to analyze data, and who is well-organized, flexible and passionate about working with such products is most likely to succeed.

The place of work is France (Field-Based). This position posting covers several regions. These regions shall be shared with candidates during the interview process.

Essential Duties

include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maximizing the potential of product in key accounts, whilst staying within budget determined for his territory.
  • Delivering selling messages, providing a high-level of customer service toward being a best-in-class assay provider.
  • Engaging with physicians and KOLs to further develop sales at existing and new accounts.
  • Reach sales targets.
  • Building and maintaining comprehensive understanding of his/her customer needs and develop key account records to manage these relationships.
  • Establish and follow contracts for Private clinics and public Hospitals.
  • Follow up of tests payments.
  • Supporting the Country Manager with sales leads out of the region, including travel when necessary.
  • Attending international and national conferences/meetings related to the French and European business and assist the set-up of exhibition booths.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • To drive sales in the defined region.
  • To be responsible for managing and growing business in existing and new accounts, and to achieve sales goals.
  • To give presentations on the product at a local level, attend relevant conferences/events in France and Europe and assist with exhibition stands as needed.
  • To attend regular training on the product(s).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science related to the essential duties.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in promoting premium products.
  • Strong record of success promoting complex products in medical oncology and/or diagnostics in the region; breast cancer preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and decision makers across the National Health System; including reimbursement.
  • Strong knowledge of KOLs in the Region; including Oncologists, Pathologists, Procurement, and Key Decision Makers.
  • Proven large territory and key account management skills.
  • Deep understanding and familiarity with clinical research and diagnostics in cancer.
  • Excellent understanding of cancer care in the French public healthcare sector.
  • Clean French Driver's license.
  • Fluency in French.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Genomics and/or clinical experience.
  • Strong business use of the English Language.
  • Market access, marketing, leadership, training, or other non-sales role experience.
