Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR GS-12: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as:
- Evaluating documentation for consistency with risk policies, guidelines, directives, and procedures; AND
- Knowledge and skill in interacting with finance, credit, technical, marketing, legal, and other professionals to obtain advice and support in completing assignments; AND
- Knowledge of performing basic financial analyses to support recommendations; AND
- Knowledge of organizational, research and communications skills, both verbal and written ability to use tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project; data management and retention software; AND
- Composing written presentations and presenting them to senior level management, customers, or other stakeholders.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR GS-13: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as:
- Researching current or new management practices for application to financial programs or operations.; AND
- Analyzing various types of credits required including project financing structures, middle market commercial & industrial, large corporate, cash flow reliant and leveraged transactions as well as a working knowledge of private equity investment; AND
- Provides administrative management and provision of analytical support of and pertaining to special projects, task forces, boards and committees.
- NOTE: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-13 level.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
