Job Description
Health & Safety SpecialistÂ
Reporting to the EHS Manager, the primary responsibility of the Health & Safety Specialist is to be the primary contact for EHS efforts in one or more business areas (distribution, manufacturing, technical service, and/or facilities, etc.). Primarily, the support will include addressing EHS concerns/questions, facilitating corrective actions, performing risk assessments, conducting training, participating on investigation teams, documenting standards and programs, analyzing and reporting on trends, assisting with worker’s compensation, and regulatory reporting. You will work with EHS and site management teams and assist as needed to standardize across all sites in the Americas. You will work with teams that are passionate about protecting the safety and well-being of employees and protecting our environment. Â

Comply with ResMed Safety Policies and ProceduresÂ

Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibilityÂ

Ensure and evaluate site adherence to ResMed policies and programsÂ

Ensure compliance to OSHA standards, such as Lockout Tagout, Hazard Communication, and Machine guarding. Â
-
Conduct risk assessments / Job Hazard AnalysisÂ
-
Conduct site wide trainings on ResMed safety policies and proceduresÂ
-
Conduct new hire/visitor safety orientationÂ
-
Assist with safety program development and documentationÂ
-
Manages inputs/updates to safety database and document control systemsÂ
-
Assist site management in completion of incident reports and investigationsÂ
-
Develop job-specific safety training to meet site needsÂ
-
Provide technical advising in support of Safety Team activities Â
-
Advise and support First Responder Team activitiesÂ
-
Maintain safety records Â
-
Maintain and promote near miss reporting programsÂ
-
Manage site SDS libraryÂ
-
Analyze injury and near miss trendsÂ
-
Conduct site inspections/auditsÂ
-
Lead safety gemba walks and address findings with site managementÂ
-
Maintain data to support tracking of weekly and monthly EHS metricsÂ
-
Other responsibilities as assigned by managementÂ

Assist EHS Manager with programs for Distribution, Manufacturing, Technical Service, and office operations in the AmericasÂ
-
Support distribution wellbeing initiatives

Ability to travel 10-15%Â

Bachelor’s DegreeÂ
-
Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task.Â

Strong professional communication skills, both oral and in writing. Ability to lead others. Â

Strong knowledge of safety programs and General Industry OSHA RegulationsÂ
-
Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointÂ
-
EHS experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environmentsÂ
Â
Preferred:Â

Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience. Â
-
EHS experience in manufacturing and distribution environmentsÂ

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: 66,000.00 - 83,000.00 - 100,000.00 USD Annual
For remote positions located outside of the US, pay will be determined based the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
