Job Description
Green Thumb is seeking a talented Sales Director to oversee our established Illinois cannabis wholesale program. As a Sales Director, you will be responsible to ensure we meet and exceed our distribution targets and revenue growth targets. As a manager of a team, you will be a player/coach responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, influencing and educating our customers, developing sales strategies, maintaining budget/sales forecasts and manage the overall execution of the sales plan. You thrive in a growth, gritty environment and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive in. This role is best suited for an extroverted go-getter who doesn’t mind phone calls, driving and ample facetime. You will be in dispensaries often interacting with a variety of clientele. ResponsibilitiesÂ- Lead and coach a team of account executives to meet and exceed Green Thumb’s wholesale objectivesÂ
- Oversee all functions of the sales lifecycle including sales forecasting, direct relationship management and development, negotiation of buying agreements and lead conversion, deal evaluations and approvalsÂ
- Develop annual and quarterly revenue plans, prepare monthly sales reports by product and channel to evaluate brand and product performance and develop annual and quarterly sales plans.Â
- Ensure stores have proper inventory levels through sales tools, smart communication and in-store visitsÂ
- Understand and provide insights on sales drivers and recommend new opportunities to drive incremental growthÂ
- Attend cannabis industry trade shows, conferences, conventions, and other professional events in an effort to stay current on industry trends as well as to interact with potential and existing customers.Â
- Partner with Finance and Operations on the following activities: forecasting activities, developing revenue targets, budgeting and developing sales operations processes and compensation plans.Â
- Monitor the market to observe emerging trends and competition.Â
- Work with Branding and Marketing teams to develop advertising strategy and promotional activities.Â
- 7+ years of outside sales preferably in consumer packaged goods (food & beverage, preferred), minimum 2 years of people managementÂ
- Knowledge of cannabis industry, regulations, market trends and competition highly preferredÂ
- Demonstrated experience of exceeding sales quotas Â
- Proven ability to build and execute a sales strategy to generate and develop new businessÂ
- Experience of P&L and budget managementÂ
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office toolsÂ
- Experience working in sales management systems (i.e. Salesforce)Â
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulnessÂ
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environmentÂ
- Possesses a high level of critical thinkingÂ
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential informationÂ
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green ThumbÂ
- Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.Â
- Must pass any and all required background checks Â
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry Â
- Must possess valid driver’s licenseÂ
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of ageÂ
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
