What You’ll Do:


HG Insights is looking for a highly motivated Sales Engineer to play a vital role in helping prospects to establish value within their organizations by educating the client on how best to activate HG Insights data assets within their sales and marketing processes.


This position will educate clients on best practices learned through like client interactions, identifying opportunities with the prospect for data to impact across a range of use cases. Working collaboratively with the prospect to build an implementation plan and liaising with sales and customer success teams to ensure the optimum commercial and engagement plan is in place to deliver the maximum value.  Through focused engagement in the pre-sales and onboarding phases of the customer journey, the Sales Engineer will make a significant impact on HG’s customer base.


The Sales Engineer will engage across some of the leading software, hardware, and service vendors globally, engaging and challenging their senior executives and operational staff on process effectiveness across their go to market planning and engagement activities. What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Decreasing prospect/customer time to value by defining a sales and marketing transformation plan based on data-centric best practices and unique customer needs to drive deal closing and the customer onboarding phase
  • Contributing to the alignment of the prospects sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure adoption of the transformation plan
  • Splitting time between HG sales and customer success teams as a subject matter expert to educate prospects and customers on the HG offering and best practices. Targeting a split of 80% pre-sale and 20% post sale activity.
  • Creating best practices and training materials for HG sales and customer success teams
  • Acting as an expert in the capabilities of HG’s offering to ensure solution fit with prospects and customers
  • Working with HG’s product team to evolve our product offering based on your front-line experiences

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Working knowledge of the typical marketing and sales stack to include automation, CDPs, CRM, data warehouses
  • An understanding of intelligence providers such as Lattice, TechTarget, Bombora, ZoomInfo and how they tie into a customer’s MDM foundation alongside HG’s offering
  • Someone who has been there and done it e.g. taken data (ideally HG) and built it into a sales and marketing process to drive ROI
  • Sales acumen i.e. good in front of customers
  • An understanding of how to drive transformation through process change
  • Playmaker abilities that can get Sales, Marketing and Product aligned
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within a customer environment
  • Ability to educate and lead people to an outcome
  • Commercial mindset
  • Sound understanding of data manipulation/visualization
  • Ability to solve for process issues
  • General knowledge of IT technologies
  • Ability to simplify
  • The Pre-Sales Engineer will have ideally held a similar role within a data/intelligence provider or held a senior sales operations role within a technology vendor.  Having experience or working knowledge of at least one of the following use case areas.
    • Market Planning
    • Competitive Intelligence
    • Partner Programs
    • ICP Development/White-spacing
    • Territory Optimization
    • Wallet Share/Account Sizing & Scoring
    • Other ABM process
