Job Description
Lilly is on the forefront of groundbreaking research and has established the Lilly Institute of Genetic Medicine. The ADME Pharmacokinetics (PK)/Pharmacodynamics (PD) Biomolecule group is growing and looking for a quantitatively minded scientist to be part of the team leading PK/PD modeling and simulation techniques to advance our Genetic Medicines portfolio.
Do you have a passion for learning and trying new things? Are you interested in being on the cutting edge of therapeutic drug development? If you are curious about drug discovery and development and enjoy asking questions and solving problems, this is a great opportunity. Apply today and join our dynamic team of scientists!
We seek dynamic, energetic, curious, and collaborative scientists ready to engage and work on life-changing therapies for patients involving novel complex molecules including DNA (e.g. Gene editing) and RNA-based technologies (e.g. siRNA). You will interact with cross-functional teams using in vitro, in vivo, and in silico approaches to mechanistically study the PK and PD of new therapeutic molecules. Through engagement in experimental design and data interpretation, you will help drive and deliver the discovery portfolio of investigational siRNA targets and novel therapeutics.
We are passionate about making an impact in the lives of our patients and pushing the boundaries of science. Consider joining our Indianapolis based team!
We are seeking a modeling and simulation minded scientist to contribute in a team environment as we use diverse analytical and computational tools to characterize factors influencing the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of our siRNA and Genetic Medicine portfolio.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Integrate PK and PK/PD in discovery biology to define structure activity relationships and guide engineering strategies and optimization of therapeutics
- Contribute to the design and preparation of PK/PD study protocols
- Help perform appropriate analyses (descriptive, non-compartmental and/or compartmental PK analysis, and PK/PD analysis) and interpret PK/PD studies
- Contribute to the preparation of PK/PD sections of study reports and technical presentations
- Collaborate with the PK/PD Biomolecule scientists to develop and build analytical models to analyze study data
- Perform quality checks and quality review of analyses for completeness and accuracy in compliance with departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and within appropriate quality control (QC) guidelines.
- Write, revise, review, or serve as content expert for departmental SOPs and methods, when appropriate.
- Communicate scientific data, both internally and in the scientific community
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
B.Sc or M.Sc. in Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics, Pharmaceutics, Biology, Computational Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Statistics, or a related subject area or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with applicable training
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Understanding of how to apply mathematical models to drug discovery/development
- Experience using relevant software such as WinNonlin, NONMEM, R, SimCYP or MATLAB
- Understanding of bioanalytical and in vitro assays used in drug development
- Prior experience working in an interdisciplinary team
- Industry or academic experience in PK/PD modelling and simulation
