Position Brand Description:
The TS/MS scientist will support the design and implementation of a new facility to support commercial drug substance manufacturing of a peptide product. This position will be involved in preparation and execution aspects ranging from equipment qualification, process shakedown with non-commercial peptide material, operator training, development and support of electronic Master Production Records, process validation, and frontline support of routine production. Urgent ad hoc protocol development, periods of heightened process monitoring, extended/shifted hours for facility start up support, and prompt delivery of technical analyses are expected contributions from this role. Mentorship from senior scientists, broad collaboration across the manufacturing functions, and a routine cadence of driving process improvements will provide significant opportunities for individual growth and development.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Provide technical input to the overall program and ensure alignment with other manufacturing functions.
- Drive timely execution of TS/MS project deliverables.
- Prepare, review and approve (as required) relevant technical documents, such as: Change Controls, Master Production Records, Procedures, Process Flow Documents, Specification Documents, Functional Specifications, User Requirement Documents, etc.
- Work with senior scientists (Flow Mentors and Molecule Steward et al) to integrate the evolving technical agenda into the project plan.
- Provide regular communication via implementation team, and meetings with Frontline TS/MS staff and Process Teams.
- Provide frontline support including investigations, authoring technical reports and deviations.
- Process monitoring and data review.
- Provide oversight to Process Teams during implementation of significant projects in the plant; helping work through issues, changes to the plan, etc.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's required in scientific disciplines, of Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, Engineering, or related applicable degrees
- 2+ years of frontline pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
Additional Preferences:
- Additional relevant industrial experience in any of the following associated disciplines such as Protein Manufacturing, Development, and Quality Control is desirable
- Previous Frontline TS/MS experience
- High-quality skills to include:
- Influence
- Technical writing
- Ability to communicate with business stakeholders, technical leaders, and operations
- Database queries, data visualizations, statistical analysis
Other Information:
- Minimal travel.
- Day shift. May require working off hours to achieve urgent business.
- Tasks require entering manufacturing areas which require wearing appropriate PPE.
