Job Summary
As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist / Senior Scientist to join our Bioanalytical Assay Development team at our facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is an ideal position for an individual with a desire to innovate and with a strong background in Ligand Binding Assay (LBA) methodologies. The successful candidate will have a primary role in the development of assays for quantification of biomolecules, including biomarkers. The scientist will develop and lead workstreams to use the biomarker knowledge to establish Proof of Biology for Voyager programs and to translate the biomarker knowledge and methods from animal studies to clinical testing. This is a hands-on bench level position with an opportunity to lead a small team and to interact with Voyager scientists in a cross-functional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and transfer biomarker, immunogenicity (i.e., Anti-Drug Antibody, ADA), PK, and biochemical assays.
- Use best practices in the development of standardized procedures, automation systems, and statistically based bioanalytical data analysis
- Provide technical expertise to identify gaps and troubleshoot technical challenges in existing LBA methods
- Identify and validate potential pharmacodynamic and predictive biomarkers in preclinical models
- Translate the preclinical methods for to clinical methods for quantification of biomolecules
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate cutting edge tools and novel bioanalytical methods
- Independently analyze and interpret data and present in various team formats
- Integrate and collaborate with internal research teams in a fast-paced environment
Essential Qualification and experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or a similar field with 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience or PhD with a minimum of 2 years experience in biotechnology industry
- Must have deep expertise and extensive hands-on experience in diverse ligand biding assay (LBA) platforms (e.g., ELISA, MSD, SIMOA, DELFIA, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge in protein and antibody chemistry
- Independently motivated, detail-oriented scientist with excellent critical thinking and problem- solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication
- Ability to be highly productive in a collaborative and matrixed team environment
- Must be organized and able to contribute to multiple parallel work streams
Preferred Experiences
- Experience in managing bioanalytical work at CRO labs is a big plus
- Proficiency with Excel, SoftMax Pro, GraphPad Prism, JMP, etc.
- Familiarity with mass spectrophotometry methods
- Understanding of statistical principles as applicable in bioanalytical data analysis
- Familiarity with clinical trials for biologics development
- Experience in PCR methods
