PRIMARY FUNCTION

Troy 7, Inc. is seeking a Security Specialist whose primary duty will be to serve as a Security Specialist for the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies (RCCTO) Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Project Office. This office is responsible for the development, testing, integration, and fielding of the Army's Mid-Range Missile capability. The security specialist will support MRC managers and team leaders to enable secure administration in the areas of information, physical, personnel, operations, and automated information systems security. The security specialist will require strong technical understanding of tasks that may include emerging technologies, research & development, engineering applications, and program acquisition activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the security management of the MRC project office
  • Responsible for developing Security Classification Guides and Program Protection Plans
  • Assists in the identification of best practices in information, personnel, physical, industrial, operations and computer security for the MRC project office
  • Assists in the identification and implementation of technology and program protection requirements in the sustainment phase of technology system life cycle
  • Provides test and operations security support for flight testing of MRC components.
  • Assists in the identification and implementation of technology and program protection requirements in the development, manufacturing, and sustainment phases of technology system life cycle
  • Works directly with supported organization Program Managers (PM), security staff, counterintelligence staff, scientists, and engineers, and provides expert process improvement and problem-solving support
  • Coordinates support for and implements security improvements to program security, concentrating efforts on vulnerability analysis and risk assessment and the development of comprehensive countermeasures plans and solutions
  • Monitors, evaluates, and coordinates actions required to ensure appropriate program support is available when and where needed within the accelerated fielding organizations and activities
  • Works directly with program staffs, scientists, engineers, technology managers, and operational forces on integrated product teams (IPT) to provide expert process improvement, training, and problem-solving support
  • Advises project managers on specific, project-oriented information and industrial security safeguards
  • Uses judgment and ingenuity to adapt OPSEC guidelines and develop OPSEC strategy for the non-tactical and tactical research, development, test, and evaluation environment
  • Prepare security training/education programs

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong customer service capabilities
  • Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Evidence of strong writing, organizational skills and follow-through
  • Able to interact professionally with staff at all levels of government and industry (including Flag Officers and Senior Executive Service)
  • Proven track record of successfully solving problems given short deadlines
  • Knowledge of test security at ranges and labs to include command and control, communications security, and security plan development
  • Expertise in the development of operations security plans/programs and security classification guides
  • Understanding of the acquisition, research, and development of ballistic and non-ballistic weapons systems
  • Knowledge of the Critical Program Information (CPI) process and implementation of countermeasures
  • Knowledge of the structure, organizations and regulations within the U.S. Army and DoD

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Direct experience working as an FSO, CPSO, PSO or other government security professional.
  • 15 years of relevant security experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in providing program security for a government project office or OEM
  • Knowledge of industrial and government security databases to include JPAS, DISS, eFCL, etc

DESIRED:

  • Security Fundamental Professional Certification (SFPC)
  • Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) and/or Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC)
  • Knowledge and understanding of compartmented program development and establishment.
  • Knowledge with Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and Program Protection Plans (PPPs)
  • Knowledge of industrial and government security databases to include JPAS, DISS, eFCL, etc
  • Security experience supporting major weapon systems development
  • Relevant experience with RCCTO or similar Army project office
  • Experience preparing briefings and documentation
