The Commercial Strategy (also known as Sports Categories) Team at Ticketmaster drives the revenue and profit performance of Ticketmaster’s marketplace across professional and college sports categories. The team is responsible for executing strategic initiatives and coordinating across the organization to drive incremental ticket sales and profit for Ticketmaster.


THE JOB

The Sr. Analyst role will be responsible for supporting the commercial strategy team in driving the revenue and profit performance for professional and college sports categories of Ticketmaster’s business (NFL, NBA/NHL, NCAA, Soccer, Nascar etc.). The role will develop/maintain business intelligence tools, perform complex analysis, and deliver actionable insights to vertical managers, clients, and senior leadership on a daily basis. In addition to day-to-day operational support and analysis, this role will support the development of short-term and long-term commercial strategies across marketing, pricing, supply, distribution, operations, business development, finance, and product functions. These projects will provide the right person with a broad range of high-impact experience and the opportunity to drive millions of dollars of incremental ticket sales across multiple categories of Ticketmaster’s business. The ideal candidate will be independently motivated, intellectually curious, have excellent organizational and analytical skills, and have a good working knowledge of professional and college sports.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Own, maintain, and develop best-in-class business intelligence dashboards and reporting for use across the organization.
  • Conduct rigorous, fact-based data analyses that result in actionable insights and impactful results for the business.
  • Be the subject matter expert for everything involving data and business intelligence on the commercial strategy team.
  • Craft appropriate stories using data to influence cross-functional stakeholders and to take action against insights developed.
  • Understand Ticketmaster’s key financial and business levers, earning a reputation as a valued contributor with strong business acumen.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Ticketmaster’s marketplace and existing processes/products to identify gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and utilize your knowledge of professional/college sports to contribute critical insights to Ticketmaster’s day-to-day commercial operations.
  • Create innovative, data-driven approaches to measure and manage the business; share best practices to improve the organization’s capabilities and drive a culture of continuous learning/unlearning.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, or engineering.
  • Ideally, 3-5 years of experience in a consulting, strategy, or comparable analytics-heavy environment. Experience in e-commerce, technology, or entertainment/media is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and with general data analysis. Experience with business intelligence and/or data visualization software (Tableau, Domo, Lookr, Qlik, etc.) is preferred.
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint or other presentation software. Experience building and communicating data-driven narratives and visualizations.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to understand the economic drivers behind a variety of scenarios and business models.
  • General interest and working knowledge of North America’s largest sports leagues/events is highly preferred.

$92,000.00 USD - $115,000.00 USD
