The Senior Application Developer (Fund Accounting Systems) acts as a mediator between technical and business user groups during the critical requirements phase of a development project. They are responsible for directing the day-to-day functions of the members of his/her team as well as technical responsibilities including designing codes and applications along with performing analysis for problem resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Design, architect, and lead implementations for Fund Accounting Systems using STAR application suite

• Analyze the existing STAR technical architecture to understand the workflow and develop various business processes.
• Lead Development team, create technical design document comprising of business logic, interfaces, components, process workflows and data flow diagrams for STAR components
• Develop new Message Streams to Automate trade processing to improve Straight-Through Processing ratio.
• Create new UI forms for business using STAR Web panel Designer and develop new STAR scheduler jobs to kick off business processes as scheduled.
• Develop new interfaces to feed Trades, SMF, analytics, pricing and other data for STAR downstream reporting, NAV calculation of Mutual funds.
• Review and upgrade data flow from one application to another using Inter-process communication (HTTP/HTPPS, TCP/IP, UDP, and Windows messaging).
• Review current system architecture and implement solutions for future scalability and performance requirements like upgradation of applications by migrating to latest technologies and versions.

• Design, review and implement Delphi-related project enhancements in STAR

• Deep understanding of Pascal language to analyze the existing architecture and build new solutions using Delphi Technology.
• Review and develop changes required for 30+ STAR UI Applications designed in Delphi as per business requirements.
• Design and plan migration strategies for all Delphi applications from Delphi 5.0 to Delphi 10.4. This also contains the Unicode changes for around 10 million line of source code.
• Convert existing Delphi Applications from 32 bit to 64 bit to handle large data sets, to improve performance and better memory management.
• Integrate third party components (DevExpress) with Delphi to improve UI experience and application performance.

• Development and execution of IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender (Mercator) Components

• Ability to use IBM WTX (Mercator) to develop code logic for data transformation.
• Monitor SWIFT messages comprising of trade details from third party application for compatibility with Mercator and implement changes as required.
• Define roadmap and implementation of upgradation of Mercator components to higher and latest version of tool.

• Performance tuning of Fund Accounting Reporting Service and enhancements of VC++ applications .

• Enhancement and bug fixes of Fund Accounting Reports generated in various formats (Pdf, Excel, CSV).
• Upgrade existing Fund Accounting reports from Active Reports 2 to Active Reports 17.
• Improve efficiency and performance through migrating existing VC++ application from Visual Studio 6.0 to Visual Studio 2022.

• Provide Production support in a timely fashion

• Ability to determine root cause of problems, provide short- and long-term solutions (where applicable).
• Show transparency and ensure client satisfaction.
• Communicate the solutions in a clear fashion to all parties involved.

High Level Key Responsibilities and Technical Experience:

• Lead development team and execute on various stages of SDLC while driving the delivery of high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
• Design, develop, modify, and test solutions to meet the business and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with business users, project managers, and other developers to ensure that application requirements are met.
• Perform code reviews and provide feedback to other developers.
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in Fund accounting application development.
• Upgrade existing applications to latest technology stack.
• Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and at least 6+ years of experience in the job offered or as a Computer Software Professional.
• STAR and PACE Knowledge (Advanced Level - 5+ yrs.)
• Delphi (Pascal) (5+ yrs.)
• IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender (Mercator)

Salary Range

$95,000 to $130,000

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
