Senior Associate, Community Manager
We’re seeking a Senior Associate, Digital, Community Manager, to join our team in Detroit. The Senior Associate operates efficiently within a group, executes assigned tasks independently, and can handle multiple projects/clients at a time. This individual will be responsible for supporting GM’s Customer Care and Aftersales social business, encompassing parts, service lane, auto technician recruitment, performance and power solutions. Primary day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring owned social pages and on-going community engagement and management. Tangentially, the candidate is required to conduct social media research and participate in creative brainstorms for social content for the respective social channels. S/he must also have strong writing skills and story-telling instincts; superlative spelling skills (a command of AP style preferred), creative thinking and problem-solving skills. S/he must have a solid grasp of basic social media tools. The ideal candidate has experience executing digital engagements in a PR, social or advertising agency setting and/or has experienced the client side. A command of the respective channels’ tone and voice is required. What you write and how you write it reflects on the company. A curiosity about targeted customers, digital trends, the business priorities of our clients and what the competition is doing rounds out our ideal candidate requirements. In today’s always-on-line world, Community Management is a critical communications tool and we’re looking for the right candidate to support this important client and our agency team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Â
- Community Management: monitoring of owned social channels using social media tools to assign, and appropriately evaluate engagements from communityÂ
- Remain current on cultural trends and technology while looking for opportunities to incorporate the Brand into conversations Â
- Identify and escalate trending social topics or content to account and strategy teamsÂ
- Research automotive market and identify areas of opportunity for automotive parts and services brands within social platforms and digital landscapeÂ
- Update status documents and project trackers on a regular basisÂ
- Communicate to client, account teams and creative teams on project developments, timelines and resultsÂ
- Liaison between a cross-functional project team, which includes Creative, Paid Media, and AnalyticsÂ
- Conduct social media researchÂ
- Participate in agency brainstormsÂ
- Post content across social media platforms Â
QUALIFICATIONS:Â
- Bachelor's Degree: 1-2 years related professional experienceÂ
- Exceptional writing skills
- Storytelling aptitude
- Strong analytical skillsÂ
- Experience and knowledge in Digital Marketing/Social Media Management is requiredÂ
- Experience working with project managers and creatives
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft OfficeÂ
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Â
- Be a demonstrated self-starter and work well within a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary teamÂ
- Willingness to learn the automotive industry; and the specifics of this part of the business: parts, aftermarket, accessories, service, more
- Have excellent organization and time management skillsÂ
- Have a passion and experience for social media and stay ahead of the curve on industry developmentsÂ
- Have very strong written and verbal communications skillsÂ
- Must feel comfortable learning new systems and toolsÂ
- Have community management experienceÂ
- Experience activating paid media campaigns a plus Â
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrentlyÂ
- Ability to assign priorities and meet due datesÂ
Skills/Platforms:Â
- Microsoft Office (experience supporting the development of presentations)Â
- Social media platforms and community management tools including but not limited to TikTok, Meta, YouTube, Google Analytics, Khoros, OpalÂ
