How you’ll make an impact:
Plan, manage, and execute in vivo studies following study protocols to support the development of immuno-oncology, redirected T-cell and/or, gene editing therapies!
How you’ll spend your time:
Collaborate with in vivo pharmacologists and technical associates to generate quality in vivo data to drive projects and technologies forward in proof-of concept, in development, and in the pipeline. Collaborate with other Study Leads and/or Technical Associate to ensure hands-on tasks are performed per protocol and quality in vivo data are generated. Ensure appropriate study records are completed. Work closely with in vivo pharmacologists and project teams and provide them support as appropriate, such as designing in vivo studies, developing study protocols, interpreting data, and generating and drafting reports. Drive operational excellence by following relevant SOP and processes, providing feedback on process, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Record and analyze data using software including Excel, GraphPad Prism, and StudyLog. Prepare and present data to various groups within the organization. Perform cell culture of primary cells and tumor cell lines using aseptic technique. Design, plan, troubleshoot, and execute of in vitro assays for both endpoint analysis of primary cells as well as in support of PK/PD studies using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), ELISpot, WES, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), and flow cytometric analysis of blood, serum, and tissue samples. Design, plan, troubleshoot, and execute in vitro assays to support proof-of-concept/development of novel concepts, technologies, and/or products.
Who you are and what you’ve accomplished:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a directly related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Experience may be gained concurrently and must include:
Two (2) years in each of the following:
- ELISA, ELISpot, mammalian cell culture (including tumor cell lines and primary immune cells), WES, qPCR, immuno-phenotyping, flow cytometry, and multicolor panel design
- Designing and developing engineered cell lines, including T-cell activation and proliferation assays, using CRISPR technology, and generating CAR-T cells
- Managing and executing in vivo mouse studies, including animal handling, performing routine injections (SC, IV, PO, and IP), necropsy, and collection of tissues and blood from various routes such as submandibular or facial vein, tail vein, open or closed cardiac collection
- Working on cross-functional engagements
- Developing technical documentation, including SOPs, pre-clinical IND package, and QC reports
- Establishing in vivo syngeneic and xenograft tumor models, including transgenic or knockout mice
- Animal study management software Studylog, flow cytometry data analysis software FlowJo, DNA cloning software such as SnapGene, and image processing program such as ImageJ
