Senior Associate - Securities Lending Operations

In this role you will:

• Join the Operations team and work directly with our Manager Securities Lending Operations and other Operations Associates to execute on daily securities lending processes.

• Support daily trade ticketing and enrichment process for various products such as equity swaps and securities financing trades in a timely and accurate manner

• Work to ensure timely loan return and recalls settlement and resolve related issues

• Collaborate with traders product managers engineering and other operations teams to ensure effective and timely trade flow and settlement

• Interact with counterparties via email on on calls to execute on loans and recalls

• Support billing and month end processes

• Be able to represent Wealthsimple with external parties (counterparties) and build relationships within industry

• Support the treasury team with cash movements credit limit monitoring

• Support internal/external auditing process and collaborate with internal recon team.

• Support the onboarding of new counterparties

• Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams on process improvements involving vendors selection and automation builds

• Operate database management systems to analyze data and perform data mining analysis to improve team efficiency

• Write/modify macro scripts related to automation procedures and collaborate with engineering team

If you possess any of the following we’d like to hear from you:

• Have 3-5 years experience working at a broker-dealer banks capital markets or pension funds.

• Have a finance accounting business or similarly technical background

• Demonstrable understanding and/or experience in trade lifecycle management or trade capture and enrichment within an Operations/Middle Office team.

• Settlements background experience with CDS and DTC

• Are capable of operating within tight deadlines and possess good business judgment. You can multitask and manage your time well

• Are passionate about technology specifically fintech

• Identify implement and maintain internal controls with a view to mitigate operational and financial risks

• Are organized with a strong attention to detail and be comfortable working on multiple priorities with the ability to meet tight deadlines

• Have strong collaboration skills and a positive attitude proven ability to structure communications both written and verbal clearly and succinctly

• Are naturally curious: if something seems off you want to figure out what’s going on.

• Strong communication skills; you’ll be working with front office (trading) and external counterparties; ​​may lead coordinate or supervise other workers in this group

• Ability to work under strict deadlines and juggle competing priorities

• Experience with any of the following would be an asset: Preset Equilend Bloomberg SQL Notion

• Currently holding or working on CSC CFA or other capital market-related certifications/designations
