Job Description

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure, APIs, and services to support supply-demand matching initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity, where you will have the chance to be autonomous and creative in shaping our product strategy and implementing innovative white-label solutions.

• Listing Classified Quality Score

What you can expect

• Be part of a large tech organisation with 50+ delivery teams: Assuming the scale, your work will impact a large number of stakeholders.
• Best path for classified ranking: Design and implement scalable, efficient backend systems to meet needs for Marketplace Quality and Matching efficiency across various markets.
• Challenge status quo: By delving into existing scoring systems to understand architecture, data flow, and functionality. Evaluate for seamless migration to white-label capabilities.
• API Development: Build RESTful APIs and implement data validation and authentication mechanisms for secure communication, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
• Optimization and Scalability: Optimize backend components for performance, scalability, and security, while also considering the flexibility and extensibility required for white-label configurations.
• Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure coding best practices are followed, with a specific focus on maintaining backend quality standards.
• Integration and Collaboration: Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Analysts to integrate their algorithms and models into the backend systems, ensuring seamless data flow and frontend integration.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor the performance of backend systems and APIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

About you

Soft skill

• Communication skills (give and receive constructive feedback, data driven argumentation, cross communication (written and verbal) and collaboration).
• Fast learning and curiosity.
• Problem solving skills and tackling complexity.
• Proactivity (not “not in my scope” attitude, but rather “go getter” attitude).

Tech skills

• Having solid experience in software engineering while building backends, APIs, data solutions and distributed systems.
• Experience with microservice, serverless, or event-driven architectures.
• Programming Languages: any modern programming language (Python, JS/TS, Java, Kotlin, C#, Go, etc). 
• Nice to haves: experience in DevOps, Data engineering or DataScience fields.
