Senior Billing Specialist

Copper River Shared Services is seeking a Sr. Billing Specialist that will be responsible for performing tasks related to the efficient preparation and processing of all phases of billing invoices in a timely and accurate manner as well as collection and application of accounts receivable. 

This position would be a hybrid schedule located in our Chantilly, VA office. 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Invoice Preparation:
  • Create and submit invoices based on project data and contract terms.
  • Ensure accuracy of invoice amounts, rates, and deductions.
  • Adhere to government regulations (e.g., FAR, CAS) for government contracts.
• Billing System Management:
  • Maintain and update project billing information in Deltek Costpoint.
  • Configure billing rules and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Reporting and Analysis:
  • Generate reports on billing metrics, aged receivables, and collections activity.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Customer Communication:
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
  • Resolve billing disputes and discrepancies.
• Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting standards.

Requirements:

• Education:
  
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience:
  • Deltek Costpoint expertise: Minimum 5-year proficiency in using Deltek Costpoint for billing and project management.
  • Experience with Government billing platforms such as IPP, GSA Delphi, and WAWF/iRAPT.
  • Experience with FFP, T&M, Cost reimbursable, and Milestone invoices
  • Accounting knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles, especially related to revenue recognition and cost allocation.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Strong communication skills: Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
  • Attention to detail: Accuracy and precision in data entry and calculations.
  • Experience with government contracting (e.g., FAR, CAS, DCAA)
• Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of other ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP)
  • Experience with contract management software
