Senior Build Engineer (Digital D&D)

Do you like to build things and see your creations flourish? As a Sr. Build Engineer, you will help to shape the future of game development at Wizards of the Coast! You will work with multiple disciplines on the Dungeons and Dragons VTT team to set the vision for and implement how the project integrates with build and deployment systems in addition to managing build infrastructure. You will collaborate with Developers, QA, PM, and OPS to help build out future solutions that will increase efficiency while decreasing support cost. We’re waiting for you – come join the team!

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD build and release systems along with supporting infrastructure that align with team development processes and program needs.
• Containerizing CI/CD systems for repeatable deployment into the cloud..
• Diagnosing and resolving build system failures due to job and infrastructure errors.
• Provide technical vision and implementation of sophisticated projects as a top level contributor/specialist.
• Break down technical visions into practical work items that may be handed off to team members to help uplevel across engineering focuses.
• Author and evolve technical designs and contribute to the technical leadership for the team.
• Support live products and drive resolution of technical problems as they arise in production environments.
• Use your experience to grasp issues quickly and make critical judgments in the absence of complete information.
• Work with a variety of other departments and specialties to build technical requirements.
• Be a recognized technical expert in your domain and have a breadth of knowledge in related fields.
• Mentor and guide team members to improve in quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, and work on a diverse team.

• Minimum 5 years of Software Engineering experience.
• Expertise with TeamCity or similar CI/CD tools.
• Proficient with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, cloud infrastructure such as AWS, and configuration as code.
• Experience integrating with Revision Control Software such as Perforce and Git.
• Proficient with Unreal Engine CI/CD utilities including; Unreal BuildGraph, Gauntlet, Unreal Game Sync (UGS), and RoboMerge.
• Proficient with programming languages such as C++, C#, and Kotlin
• Experience building/deploying/maintaining live services.
• Experience mentoring and encouraging positive relationships with team members.
• Strong coding, debugging and problem-solving skills and the ability to write readable, maintainable code.
• Strong communication and teamwork with diverse groups of people in various roles.
• Sound knowledge of software engineering methodologies and the impact of early decisions on later development stages of software projects.
