 Pay Range: $90,000/yr - $110,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
The Role
The Strategic Sourcing Senior Buyer is the overall Strategic Sourcing lead for a spend category at Maesa. The Senior Buyer ensures stellar performance across various metrics such as Quality, Service, Cost, Innovation and Sustainability through development of Procurement best practices, including sourcing strategy definition, deployment, and stakeholder management. Supports the Global Value creation program, target setting in alignment with the Spend Area Leads to enable the achievement of the global, Regional and local Procurement goals. The Strategic Sourcing Senior Buyer drives Procurement value contribution while ensuring compliance with policies, strategies, and processes. This position reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing.Â
 Key Responsibilities:
Lead & Support global strategy development, deployment, and strategic planning for key global spend categories
- Map and categorize existing spend and forecast future demand; develop category strategy, tracking & reporting processes
- Execute S2P and other compliance initiatives, relay learnings for continuous improvements
- Budget and adhere to spend targets; define necessary tactics and project identification/prioritization, governance, and controls
- Lead & Support supplier negotiation strategy and process as per initiatives
- Support the development, alignment and deployment of Supplier performance management and intelligence strategy & processes in coordination with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
- Support the development of supplier selection and assurance program in close coordination with trade, marketing, quality, R&D, and operations
Steer overall efforts for Value Create (Savings) in owned category, be PMO’s first point of contact
- Monitor market for commodity/category trends, drive appropriate risk mitigation and other commercial initiatives
- Escalation point for resolution with external partiesÂ
- Manage the cost center of the team in alignment with planned budget
- Monitor performance vs. yearly goals – take appropriate action to ensure delivery and exceed expectations as per appropriate
- Reduce NWC needs in portfolio
Manage stakeholder engagement, collaboration of teams, and supplier relationships
- Identify and manage connectivity of Key Spend Area teams with functional stakeholders, suppliers, and internal Procurement
- Manage stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout the end-to-end sourcing
- Lead & support global supplier relationship management (SRM) program for the Key Spend
- Manage commercial supplier relationships and contracts for global Spend Areas (where the role is assigned as the owner of the supplier relationship).
Develop and Share best practices for all global Spend Areas
- Track external events such as geopolitical actions, technology trends and industry movements (such as capacity) – position Maesa appropriately to meet team goals
- Lift and shift best practices from one region to other regions
- Ensure standardization of processes and tools in coordination with procurement leads
- Drive harmonized global approach towards end-to-end sourcing practices (strategy to compliance)
- Contribute to establishment of Strategic Sourcing ecosystem via good documentation, training of next generation
Support the delivery of assigned regional and global KPI’s and Focused Sourcing
- Manage delivery of margin, innovation, cash flow and other deliverables for the Key Spend
- Be a point person responsible for delivery of goals for Key Spend
- Lead, support and participate in key initiatives such as bid events, supplier negotiation, risk management and quality issues impacting multiple
- Supplier management and intelligence: support the regional procurement owners in the management of key supplier performance for selected key supplier relationships.
Category Specific Responsibilities:
FreightÂ
- ~40MM + spend across different freight lanes (Ocean, Land, Air), Warehousing and DutiesÂ
- Advise overall geographic sourcing strategy and implicationsÂ
- Develop right level of partnerships with appropriate freight partnersÂ
- Make overall freight network more efficient and dependableÂ
- Improve spend visibility and real-time monitoring
PackagingÂ
- ~50MM+ spend across different packaging categories (primarily blow and injection molded bottles, caps etc. but also secondary packaging such as cartons & labels)Â
- Advise overall geographic sourcing strategy and implicationsÂ
- Develop right level of partnerships with appropriate pack partnersÂ
- Review tools/CAPEX exposure and strategy to increase speed to market and overall costÂ
- Support sustainability goals of organizationÂ
- Improve spend visibility and real-time monitoringÂ
FillersÂ
- ~50MM+ spend across different contract manufacturing categoriesÂ
- Advise overall geographic sourcing strategy and implicationsÂ
- Develop right level of partnerships with appropriate CMO partnersÂ
- Review tools/CAPEX exposure and strategy to increase speed to market and overall costÂ
- Support sustainability goals of organizationÂ
- Improve spend visibility and real-time monitoring
Qualifications
- Applicable University Bachelor’s Degree
- Strategic Sourcing and Negotiation
- Project Management and Internal/External Communication
- Relationship Control, People & Change Management
- Minimum 3-7-years of experience in Procurement or other business leadership function
- Fluent spoken/verbal English
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, Procurement Professional Qualification
- Supplier Selection / Portfolio Analysis
- Supplier Selection / Portfolio Analytics
- Excel, Microsoft functions, Analysis, Sourcing Strategy
- Extensive knowledge of Spend Area at hand
- Beauty industry experience
- Spanish and Mandarin Preferred
