The company’s leadership team comprises both AI technologists from leading organizations including Meta, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Twitter, Stanford, Caltech, MIT as well as tech consulting veterans from Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, McKinsey, Bain, and more.

About the role:

We are looking for a strategic Senior Counsel to support the iteration and deployment of our global workforce strategy during a time of rapid growth. In this role, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams to build and implement the business frameworks that enable Turing to expand its innovative remote-first approach to work. With an immediate focus on the US, India, and Brazil markets, you will be key to improving upon and building scalable and pragmatic workforce business solutions that support Turing’s mission of Unleashing the World's Untapped Human Potential across Turing’s now and future operating locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Critical advisor to the business on deploying Turing's global workforce strategy across multiple worker classifications and jurisdictions
  • Close partner with People, Recruiting, Product, Sales and Operations teams to both embed legal compliance into our core processes while partnering with the People team to close gaps created as a result of rapid scaling
  • Provide expert counsel on cross-border workforce issues, including worker classification, compensation structures, and workforce scale-up/scale-downs consistent with business needs, contract terms, and local laws
  • Support the Sales process as necessary through thoughtful engagement with clients and prospective clients on issues related to the workforce
  • Create and implement employment/workforce documentation, policies, and training programs for global use
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI-In-The-Workplace regulations and the Future of Work
  • Advise on contractor and gig economy-related legal issues as part of Turing's overall workforce strategy
  • Manage outside counsel relationships and locate/develop new ones in our emerging markets as necessary

Requirements:

  • J.D. with 8+ years of law firm or in-house experience with a background in cross-border employment issues and international workforce management
  • Deep expertise in cross-border employment laws, with significant exposure to US and California employment law, Indian and/or Brazilian employment law
  • Experience partnering with HR, Recruiting, and Operations teams in high-growth environments
  • An ability and desire  to provide creative, business-oriented solutions to complex legal challenges especially around global workforce management complexities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Self-starter mentality
  • Active membership in US State Bar

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with and enjoyment in learning about AI/ML regulatory frameworks
  • In-house experience at a global technology company or tech services firm
  • Track record of successfully guiding companies through expansion into new jurisdictions
  • Experience working in distributed or remote teams
  • An understanding of the laws and business considerations relating to the future of work and the gig economy
Advantages of joining Turing:
  • Amazing work culture (Super collaborative & supportive work environment; 5 days a week)
  • Awesome colleagues (Surround yourself with top talent from Meta, Google, LinkedIn etc. as well as people with deep startup experience)
  • Competitive compensation
  • Flexible working hours
  • Full-time remote opportunity
