The main goal of this position is the analysis, design, development and implementation of application programs and the modification of Salesforce applications. Included are integration to other applications with Salesforce. Analyze project requirements, develop effort estimates, task dependencies, and provide technical support. Support major projects with complex business problems that can have a broad organization impact and provide opportunities for competitive advantage. May solve technical complex problems and be called on to advise for other projects. Direction is provided by the immediate supervisor and normally consists of relative priority and timing requirements of the assignment, business process requirements and tradeoffs, assigned resources, security and performance requirements, interface, and technical requirements. You are encouraged to use all technical resources to maximize production output and quality, and to develop and implement the solution within the parameters provided and subject to supervisory direction and user acceptance testing and approval. Supervisor is kept informed of progress toward the goal, issues, conflicts, and opportunities to help guide the project toward completion.

The system user or customer is involved at each stage of implementation to help ensure the accuracy of the solution. The Senior Developer - Salesforce leads activities by coordinating development, systems integration and end user testing including planning, building, scheduling, facilitating execution, issues resolution, controlling scope, and adjusting to unforeseen issues. You will work with the project team to document, prioritize, and resolve issues to ensure testing deliverables are completed. Develop and implement applications requires a broad understanding of application architecture and integration with business systems. Solutions must consider feasibility and overall performance impacts. An implementation plan is developed and maintained through the lifecycle of the project. You should have a sound understanding of the economics of testing to promote quality at a reasonable cost. The supervisor is kept informed of progress toward the goal, issues, problems, conflicts, and opportunities to help guide the project toward completion. You are given complex and challenging business problems that can provide opportunities for significant competitive advantage. The Senior Developer - Salesforce must perform feasibility and economic analysis to evaluate system alternatives for cost and bottom-line impact. Efficiency of the entire business process must be considered throughout the development cycle.

Essential Functions:

• You will report to the Manager Salesforce and has no direct or indirect reports
• We are looking for up to 5% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays
• Flexible schedule however will work in the office two days per week
• Programming using Salesforce Apex, Visualforce, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, XML, Web Services (REST/SOAP)
• Configuration and administration of salesforce applications, including but not restricted to Salesforce Data loader, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Salesforce community portals
• Develop Salesforce Lightning Aura and Lightning Web Components, development of Flows and Triggers
• Working with the following technical frameworks: Aura framework, Bootstrap, Angular
• Using Git Hub to manage changes
• Apply Agile, Waterfall or other similar Application lifecycle methodology to develop the solutions
• Perform systems analysis and design, document, develop, implement, and maintain complex application development
• Ensure applications created under his/her responsibility follow departmental standards, appropriate controls and audit trails exist, and that new systems and programs are thoroughly tested prior to installation in production environment
• Identify and document our business processes
• Identify and document gaps between our business processes
• Analyze and translate user requirements into technical design projects
• Develop technical architecture and code for applications including database, scripting, and user interface design
• Develop technical and functional architecture for Interfaces including field mapping and data transformation
• Assist Business Analysts and other Programmers in identifying fields to complete data conversion
• Lead project team and end users in execution of data validation and quality
• Document identified issues as they surface
• Collaborate with project team to resolve identified issues
• Monitor and assist project team and end users in the execution of user acceptance testing
• Provide on-going application technical support and participate in application training
• Provide documentation, technical specifications, and infrastructure requirements for each development Project
• Continuously monitor industry trends, standards, and technologies
• Research, recommend and apply new technologies as they emerge
• Perform feasibility analysis considering technical, infrastructural, organizational, and economic aspects to alternative solutions
• Perform project management activities including task identification, effort and duration estimates, task dependencies and sequencing, critical path analysis, resource assignment and evaluation, conflict, and problem resolution
• Stay informed about and apply best practices in design, system development and production monitoring trends

Other Important Details about the Role:

The Senior Developer - Salesforce is responsible for the analysis, design, development and implementation of Salesforce application programs and the integration to VMI application programs. This position has system-wide responsibility on complex projects and components and may solve highly technical complex problems and be called on to consult for other projects. The incumbent should demonstrate a logical approach to project analysis and estimation including work breakdown structure, scope control, critical path method, and project metrics.

What it takes:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field) and 5+ years relevant experience in database programming
• Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud Oracle database programming, MS SQL database programming, Data base designing
• 2 years Git Hub experience
• 3 years' experience with Salesforce Lightning Aura and Lightning Web Components development, Flows and Triggers
• 3 years' experience with the following technical frameworks: Aura framework, Bootstrap, Angular
• 3 years' experience with the following Integration Development Environments (IDEs): Eclipse, VS code
• 5 years' experience with programming: Apex, Visualforce, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, XML, Web Services (REST/SOAP)
• Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing and Test Case Writing, Documentation, Application Trouble shooting & requirements analysis, estimation, and technical support
• Development Methodologies: Agile & Sprint development, Team oriented, Active team participation & result oriented
• Certified Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder and Salesforce Platform Developer I
• Dot Net web application development experience
• English Verbal and Writing proficiency
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. You are regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Minimal travel requirements for this position. You are frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. You are occasionally required to move about the office. You must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
