Senior Engineer, Team Lead

Job Description: Serve as the point of contact for questions related to milestone capability scope and communicate with other stakeholders to ensure expectations are clear and consistent. Guide capability owners and advise them how to execute their analyses. Organize knowledge exchange to ensure owners are able to perform their analyses. Ensure the capability analyses meet the expectation and deadlines for each milestone. Coach the owners on prioritizing issues and facilitate their resolution. Address dependencies with other teams and identify work products and need dates required from other teams such as Simops, Vehicle Test, and Triage. Ensure delivery of dependent work products meet expectation. Ensure capability approach meets stakeholder expectations and communicate with company wide stakeholders to ensure the common analysis approach meets the need. Present results to leadership and address feedback. Manage personnel and perform the managerial tasks for the team members. Position is fixed location based in Pittsburgh office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. Travel to other Motional’s U.S. offices 3 to 4 times per year. Job Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of industry experience as a Technical Lead, Engineer, or related occupation in AV systems engineering or V&V. Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): V&V deliverables including system. Planning and executing V&V activities on a safety critical Autonomous Vehicle (AV) system through to the service phase of its lifecycle. Performing analysis via simulation tools. Supporting AV testing activities on closed course via test planning and analysis. Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):  V&V deliverables including product and subsystem. Adapting traditional systems engineering and test activities to an agile environment.
