Senior Engineering Director, D/Cipher

About the Position’s Contributions:

You understand and will confidently address the challenges associated with delivering scalable, dynamic, reliable, and highly performant tools to drive revenue through the online ad ecosystem. You are equally comfortable getting hands-on with code reviews and development tools, and extrapolating system configurations from product requirements. You will:

• Partner closely with business owners, product, and engineering leadership to set technical direction for the D/Cipher ecosystem.

• Mentor and manage developers, technical leads, and managers on your team to grow their skills and prepare them for increased responsibilities.

• Help drive our onboarding and internal training processes to support increased hiring and team growth.

• Stay current with and advocate for engineering best practices, performance, and scalability.

• Vet third-party technologies and integrations for security, functionality, and overall fit.

• Help lead conversations about the design, architecture, and implementation of D/Cipher and related systems.

About Your Qualifications:

You have broad, deep knowledge of modern development techniques and trends, especially in the online advertising space, and are a natural leader and a seasoned manager who will coax the best performance from our talented and committed engineering team. You have:

• 10+ years of professional technology experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have experience managing other managers and have hands-on experience building internal tools, backend applications, RESTful APIs, and automated data pipelines.

• Significant experience working in the online advertising ecosystem, ideally working closely with DSP, SSP and DMP platforms and technologies. The ideal candidate has been directly involved in building or implementing ad-tech solutions from multiple perspectives.

• Experience working in multiple back-end technology frameworks in multiple languages. Practical knowledge of service languages such as Java, Python, or NodeJS is preferred.

• Strong understanding of system design for highly-performant systems. Experience with service architecture, horizontal scalability, and managing large data sets is strongly preferred.

• Proven ability to make yourself understood to both technical and non-technical audiences. You are an outstanding communicator and your interactions with stakeholders and coworkers move business forward in a dynamic working environment.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset and who runs toward a challenge.

• Flexible and pragmatic in decision-making, with a strong ability to negotiate and maintain high engineering standards.
