Senior Engineering Manager

OverviewHello! We are seeking a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in building and scaling a high-performance dating application. You will drive system design, mentor globally distributed engineers, and establish best practices to ensure the rapid delivery of a reliable, scalable product. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise and a passion for cultivating high-performing teams.

What You’ll DoLeadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and guide globally distributed engineers in best practices, career growth, and technical problem-solving.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture that prioritizes learning, innovation, and quality.
• Manage the agile development process, ensuring that our engineering team is delivering on-time and meeting business goals.

System Design & Development

• Lead the design and architecture of a scalable, highly performant GraphQL API.
• Oversee the development process to ensure rapid delivery and iterative improvement of a high-quality dating application.
• Continuously refine workflows and processes to improve engineering efficiency and productivity.

Quality & Standards

• Establish and enforce coding standards, including code reviews and adherence to best practices.
• Ensure that all system designs and implementations meet business, performance, and reliability requirements.

Who You Are

• 5+ years experience as senior engineer
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering scalable, high-performance systems.
• Expertise in systems design, architecture, and backend development with a focus on AWS, Node.js and GraphQL.
• Strong knowledge of modern databases (Postgres, Redis) and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Familiarity with Firebase and Sendbird.
• Experience with mobile technologies, especially React Native, is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

**PLEASE NOTE: Jubilee has a hybrid work culture and we are currently working in-office 3 days at work with 2 days a week of remote work. As such, all candidates must be on-site in El Segundo 3 days a week and thus based near the office or willing to relocate.**
