Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

The position of Senior Financial Analyst is within our Toxicology business unit, within our finance team, with a primary location available at our Richmond, Virginia office and a secondary location available at our Kansas City, Missouri office and will be a part of our Workplace Services business, which is committed to developing and delivering innovative products and services. These products and services automate and streamline the employee screening process by combining cutting-edge technology with superior customer service.

The Senior Financial Analyst will contribute to operating cost forecasting and analytics, margin analysis and a wide range of ad-hoc reporting projects for two laboratories. We seek someone who approaches projects with an innovative, service-oriented mindset, and a strong emphasis on data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will possess an analytical mind and a strong desire to make an impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Compare and analyze monthly operating cost results to forecast, plan and prior year, identifying and documenting key business drivers of variances in monthly reporting package
  • Maintain and periodically update cost allocation models for measuring customer profitability and laboratory operating performance
  • Prepare monthly direct labor productivity and key performance indicator reporting
  • Complete direct labor headcount modeling in accordance with laboratory volume projections
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory operations and finance team to develop and maintain detailed quarterly forecasts
  • Load, reconcile and maintain financial budgets and forecasts within Microsoft Power Planner
  • Support internal business partners with managing operating costs to forecast and proactively elevate risks and opportunities
  • Analyze input and operational costs and elevate opportunities for cost reduction/management
  • Forecast and track savings for Gross Margin Improvement projects using Provalido, the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics savings manager
  • Complete Requests for Capital Expenditures, prepare supporting return-on-investment and discounted cash flow projections and monitor actual spend vs. authorized
  • Develop expertise in all applicable financial-related systems and processes


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3-5 years, or more, of work experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting or operations finance
  • Periodic travel required (5%)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree
  • Ability to organize and interpret large amounts of data, identify and interpret trends and summarize in a clear and concise format
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerBI, PowerPlanner, PowerPoint
  • Proven experience in building operating cost models
