Materia is a well funded early stage startup, building AI powered software to help augment a wide range of tasks and improve productivity for professionals at large accounting firms.

Role

As a Front End Engineer at Materia, you will lead the design and implementation of our product and be a core contributor to the direction of our company. We are looking for someone to own the front end development and be a part of our growing engineering team.

Breakdown: 10-20% on product and UI/UX design, with the remaining 80-90% on web development using React/NextJS, Tailwind, and Typescript.

• Lead the development of innovative AI-powered accounting tools.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Proven experience leading projects and building beautiful & slick user interfaces
• Proficiency in frontend software development, especially with React, Typescript, and Tailwind.
• A strong familiarity with UI/UX and product design.
• At least 5 years in software engineering with a focus on frontend product development.
• A flexible and adaptable mindset. Early stage startups are inherently always evolving! How we handle uncertainty is how we make progress as a company.
• Bonus:
• Previous early stage startup experience
• Experience with with LLMs or in the Accounting Industry
