Job Description

Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the techno-functional impact analysis, design & code construction activities associated with the development of software releases for the BETSOL guest experience systems. Strong technical, functional, and interpersonal skills are key to perform this role successfully. 

The engineer will partner and collaborate with the development manager, business analysts, architects, quality assurance, business partners, developers, and project managers to deliver change and innovation to our Java-based business applications software. They will be involved throughout the entire development lifecycle of our products and must be able to deliver an efficient solution, as well as identify and properly mitigate any risks to the product before deployment to production.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 4-6+ years of software development in enterprise/web applications
• 4-6+ years of experience as a full-stack developer
• 4+ years of experience in modern programming languages and cloud-based technologies
• 4+ years of experience in Agile development practices
• 4+ years of experience in distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architecture
• 4-5+ years of experience with AWS, GCP or other public cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), SaaS application development/support, CI/CD practices, containerization, Kubernetes, and Agile/DevOps methodologies

Technology Qualifications

• Strong technical proficiency in programming languages such as NodeJS, Java, and Python.
• Familiarity with React JS, Angular, or other front-end frameworks; ability to develop effective engineering practices and processes
• Worked as Full Stack Developer with experience in building mission-critical/highly-scalable applications with large user/infrastructure footprint
• Extensive experience in microservices development and best practices
• Extensive experience with cloud-native development practices and 12-factor app development
• Extensive experience with microservices patterns and implementation
• Familiarity with GraphQL/gRPC
• Knowledge of open-source packages especially those provided by Apache, Google, and Spring
• Database knowledge – SQL, NoSQL, table structure, data relationships

• Ability to learn/work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space

• In-depth experience with building application programming interfaces (API) and frameworks in their field
• Experience in API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, request and response modifications
