Job Description
The ITS/Traffic Department is seeking a creative, self-driven, exceptionally talented Senior ITS/Traffic Manager for employment in the Atlanta, GA office. As Senior ITS/Traffic Manager, you may manage ITS, Traffic, Safety, Signal Operations, and Transportation Management Center Operations projects, and you will support growing the ITS/Traffic Department. Responsibilities will include the development and management of projects, serving as a senior technical leader, and supporting regional and national ITS programs and opportunities. If you are the successful applicant, you can look forward to joining a large, dynamic, and highly technical team of ITS/Traffic/Safety engineers, signal/communications technicians, data scientists, programmers, and IT specialists, who are driven to provide exceptional traffic and ITS services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for the ITS/Traffic Department.
- Full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments for the ITS/Traffic Department.
- Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
- Manages a group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
- Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for signal operations, ITS, and traffic engineering tasks.
- Mentor/train junior and mid-level staff.
- Serve as a Project Manager and become an AECOM Certified Project Manager within 6 months.
- Manage client expectations to ensure the client is highly satisfied with projects.
- Develop business opportunities by networking with clients and within the industry to establish relationships and sell AECOM services.
- Support and leverage new business opportunities through other ITS/Traffic managers and their clients.
- Support/Lead the development and implementation of strategic signal operations, ITS, and emerging technologies marketing plans and tactics.
- Support/Lead proposal development opportunities, including go/no-go decisions, helping to determine teaming partners, scoping tasks, preparing estimates, and managing a proposal development team.
- Support regional and national marketing and business development activities.
- Periodic travel is required within Georgia and neighboring states.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. or years of ITS/Traffic or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 8 years of experience in the ITS/Traffic management field
- Experience managing ITS, Traffic, Safety, Signal Operations, and Transportation Management Center Operations projects,
- Experience leading and supervising a team of ITS specialists and engineers
- Experience successfully leading and delivering complex transportation projects
- Experience in applicable industry standards, regulations, and guidelines
- Professional Engineer (PE)
