Your role

The primary purpose of the role is to lead component design and build for new and existing components working across multiple teams and roles for projects enhancements and production support and in line with industry practices. Knowledge in an Agile, SAFe development environment will be required. The team is made up of developers, testers and a shared services team to support the environments. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for working on maintaining, developing and enhancing existing applications. Extensive experience in Java development (Spring/ Springboot, J2EE), Web services (REST, JSON, SOAP, XML) will be required. You will play an important role in creating the high-level design artifacts, lead validation support for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering activities either at an individual level or providing designs and guidance across multiple squads comprising of up to 3-6 developers
• Drive the development of software that meets the functional and non-functional requirements of business users and taking into consideration future maintenance requirements.
• Requirement gathering, estimation and work planning
• Build new or enhance existing Java based applications on spring or springboot frameworks or legacy J2EE apps.
• Lead the design build and diagnose issues on REST and SOAP based services.
• Participate in creating an implementation plan as per the project level quality plan and work on go live activities
• Respond to production issues, arrive at a solution with inputs from the stakeholders.

Required

• 5+ years of experience in designing and developing enterprise applications using Java technologies.. Certification in java 8 is an added advantage
• Expertise and hands on experience in Core Java. Deep insight of Java fundamentals such as OO design, design patterns, Collections etc.
• Expertise in API & Web service development (SOAP & REST), Middleware like JMS, MQ, OSB
• Knowledge in at least 3 of the following technology: Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, Spring Security, JUnit, jQuery, XML/XSL, Hibernate
• Some experience on web development (Angular, HTML, JavaScript, JSP).
• Experience in working on structured ‎‎(Iterative or Agile Scrum) SDLC processes
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS/Azure), containers, spring boot, and container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift

Preferred

• Basic knowledge of web logic and working experience on CICD
• Experience in Oracle PL/SQL, database object's structure, Java EE, Angular
• Experience in GIT and Sonarqube
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
• Working Knowledge of production support, enhancements, problem solving capabilities.
• Good Analytical skills and communication skills
• Skilled with various Agile project management tools like ServiceNow and Agile framework like SAFe, Scrum, Kanban
