As the Senior Manager of Content Marketing this role will sit within a newly formed Retail Operations team reporting into the AVP Retail Marketing Operations. In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing the content marketing and content management strategy for the retail division within Cox Automotive. You will work closely across the organization especially with product and brand/product marketing teams to create compelling content that drives awareness, engagement, conversions, and affinity. In this role, you will be the primary owner of content and a new content strategy that aligns with business objectives.
You will also be responsible for managing a team of content writers and working with agencies on all content types from written, visual, interactive, video. The ideal candidate will be more than a content writer. You will have marketing experience creating content and campaigns executing content marketing strategies across channels and all content types. You will have a zest to implement new strategies and technologies and approaches to drive increased business results.
What You'll Do
- Develop and oversee the execution of a comprehensive content marketing strategy / engine that aligns with business objectives and drives awareness, demand generation, brand/product affinity.
- Manage a team of writers/ content creation specialists including freelancers, designers, and videographers to produce engaging content for the company's target audience and objectives.
- Creates high-quality, original content across content types such as email, blog posts, eBooks, reels, podcasts, social, webinars, infographics, etc. based on brand & product marketing topics/themes, that educates buyers, advances the company's thought leadership position, and generates leads, and affinity.
- Guide team to create written, visual, interactive, and video content that will be implemented across channels.
- Identify opportunities for repurposing content across multiple channels.
- Implement a strategy and a model to best balance the team load while achieving the needed outcomes. Manage external agencies or contractors as needed to supplement in-house content capabilities.
- Works alongside other team members such as web and channel marketing within Retail Operations, product, product marketing and sales to ensure the content is aligned with the overall initiatives and supports achieving the needed outcomes.
- Serves as the editorial voice and lead for all retail wide channels, including but not limited to website, blog, social media, email, etc.
- Develop processes, workflows and an editorial calendar that efficiently manages the creation, publications, and distribution of topics to be covered on the company website, blog, social media channels, etc. on a regular basis.
- Review analytics data to determine where the company is excelling in its marketing efforts and where improvements can be made. Implement an "always-testing" A/B approach to content.
- Evaluate potential opportunities for partnership with other businesses or organizations that would provide mutual benefit to both parties.
- Participate in marketing research and planning activities to understand customer pain points and industry opportunities and help identify new needs and determine how they can be addressed.
- Prepare written reports detailing progress on content creation projects, including estimated costs and projected completion dates.
- Stay abreast of industry, marketing and content and content technology trends, and share updates with the broader team. Create case for change and strategy to implement.

Who You Are/ Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience in in marketing, content marketing, or a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years of experience; or 12 years' experience in a related field.
- Experience as a Senior Marketing Manager or Director managing a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in best practices for writing for a variety of marketing tactics.
- Ability to think strategically and beyond today to develop the direction for what's next while managing the load of today.
- Resourceful, self-starter who works well independently. Sense of urgency and strong work ethic. Ability to take and act on feedback.
- Strong time management and project prioritization skills. Flexible and comfortable with managing multiple, changing deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to translate technical product information into compelling marketing messages. Ability to match multiple voices/tones.
- Possess a zest to implement new strategies and technologies and approaches to drive increased business results. Strong content development process

- Curious and quick learner who develops smart questions.
- Proficiency computer and technology skills
Preferred:
- Degree in marketing, or communications
- Strong writing skills can help you create engaging and persuasive content for your audience. You can also use your writing skills to create compelling and informative content for websites.
- Proofreading/copyediting experience
