Job Description
What you'll do...
Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technicalsolutions; directing and reviewing design artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes); writing and developing code; overseeing softwaredesign; reviewing unit test cases; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; directing project team and cross functionalteams; enhancing design to prevent reoccurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provideinput on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.Leads the work of cross-functional groups of ten to twenty engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by providingpertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short and long term solutions and timeline; reviewing and approving proposed solutions;implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code reviews of changes.Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality,possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; directing root cause analysis toprevent future occurrence of issues; and reviewing and approving online documentation.Supports business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and drive resolution; partnering with business to definepriorities; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership.Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design by partnering with the Product Management, Web Operations, ProjectManagement, Business and User Experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes tovalidate ideas.Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating businessplans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuringprogress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based workenvironment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coachingfor success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction toothers in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with businesspartners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness;
and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
1. What you will do
The role will be focused on modernizing Walmart's Health and Wellness in-store fulfillment and associate technologies and leveraging the key building blocks to delivering an integrated healthcare platform.
You will play a critical role in leading the design and implementation of this new capability to accelerate the transformation of store-centric fulfillment systems into cloud based micro-services that abstract the business logic away from the fat client. Using a domain & capability-based approach, the microservices will leverage events to coordinate between domains and complete fulfillment with greater flexibility to new business needs or create new customer experiences for best-in-class care.

The Patient Mart team is at the forefront of building a real-time streaming platform to enable the entire view of the Patient's health history across the Pharmacy chain.
3. Position Summary
We are looking for a software engineering leader who is results-oriented and loves to solve complex problems using cutting edge technology. The successful candidate is highly customer driven, has attention to detail, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams and passionate about creating best-in-class care through integrated omnichannel care for millions of customers, lowering costs and improving health outcomes through better relationships with payers, providers, and plans.
4. What you'll bring
a. Experience managing software engineers and lead Engineering projects
b. In-depth knowledge of technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Rest API, Event driven design, Sparking Streaming Platform (Databricks), Messaging Technologies (Kafka), Containerization
c. Understanding of cloud technologies and designing solutions deployed to Azure & Google Cloud Platform
d. Engage in technical design and discussions and also help drive technical architecture
e. Ensure the happiness and productivity of the team's software engineers
f. Help mitigate risk (technical, product, personnel)
g. Collaborate with other scrum teams, QA, Release Management, Program Management, and TechOps.
h. Communicate the vision of our product to external entities
i. Participate in relevant Engineering and Technical Operations workgroups and on-call rotations to assure service availability
j. Foster, enable and promote learning and innovation
k. Define team metrics and meet productivity goals of the organization
