As a Senior Network Engineer, you will design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure across all operational areas of the firm. You will be a senior member of the Systems team, which is flexible in supporting a growing, dynamic team of software, research, and systems engineers. This role is a means to make a difference: you will maintain the backbone of a rapidly growing technology enterprise.
We seek to hire someone in the following locations: Berkeley, CA, or New York, NY
Responsibilities
- Refine/Define topology of corporate and production network
- Build out highly available and scalable network infrastructure
- Utilize Automation/IAC tools to create reproducible and audited configurations
- Enhance network monitoring infrastructureĀ
- Participate in an on-call rotation (after building context on our systems and operations)
Requirements
- At least five years of professional networking experience with increasing responsibility and scope of work
- Experience with enterprise switches (Juniper preferred)
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocols, addressing and routing.
- Experience with network protocols such as VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, LAG, IPSec
- Experience with high-speed network infrastructure to enable high-performance distributed storage solutions
- Understanding of network security fundamentals
- Ability to use automation tools for reproducible network configurations
- Eagerness to work with diverse teams
- Willingness to rack, stack, and cable networking hardware
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux OSĀ
- Experience scripting with Python or other interpreted language
- Experience with Cloud networking
Compensation
The base salary for this position is $170,000 to $205,000 in the location(s) of this posting. Individual salaries are determined through a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Base salary does not include other forms of total compensation, such as bonus compensation and other benefits. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D insurance, 20 days of paid time off, 9 sick days, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
