Senior Network Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our organization's network infrastructure in our Datacenters and in AWS to ensure the highest levels of availability, reliability, and performance. You will play a crucial role in supporting the company's technical operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and helping drive the success of our network initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Design and Architecture:

• Develop and maintain network architecture plans and design documents.
• Evaluate current network infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure network designs align with overall technology strategies.

• Configure and deploy network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Perform regular network maintenance tasks, updates, and patches to keep the infrastructure secure and up to date.

• Implement and manage network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic for unusual activities and potential threats.
• Collaborate with the security team to enhance network security measures.

• Monitor network performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operation.
• Optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency and reliability.
• Plan and execute capacity upgrades to accommodate organizational growth.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory.
• Generate performance and status reports for management and stakeholders.

• Work with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure the smooth operation of network services.
• Evaluate vendor solutions and negotiate contracts for cost-effective network solutions.

• Collaborate with other IT professionals, providing guidance and support on network-related projects.
• Mentor and train junior network engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Job Requirements

• Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proficiency in AWS (Amazon Web Services) and experience with designing, implementing, and optimizing AWS network architectures.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices, such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing network projects.
