Working closely with the Senior Network Project Engineers: Perform network software and hardware upgrades as well as support circuit installations and cutovers for a large network hardware refresh project. Report regular status of cutovers and operational incidents to the SDM and Lead Senior Network Engineer. Ability to work off-hours, weekends, and travel to various work sites within Orange County will be required.

This Role Performs:

• Perform software and hardware upgrades to Cisco network equipment in IDF's and MDF's at multiple sites throughout Orange County
• Perform site surveys of IDF and MDF locations to identify potential issues with cabling, power, and cooling
• Perform onsite WAN circuit cutovers, installations, upgrades, and turn ups
• Testing of replacement network equipment and validation of routing and switching functionality
• Validation, creation, and updating network documentation and network diagrams
• The position maintains technical expertise in all areas of network hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, SRST, and voice gateways

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. An additional four (4) years of experience may be applied in lieu of a Bachelors.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience with Cisco LAN/WAN routing and switching products
• Proficiency in routing technologies: OSPF, VRF, BGP, MPLS, QOS
• Proficiency in switching technologies: VLANs, VTP, Spanning-Tree, PoE, Physical Cabling
• Proficiency in general network technologies: NTP, DHCP, SNMP, TACACS+
• Experience supporting circuit installations and cutovers

Desired Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Experience supporting network device refresh/replacement projects
• Experience supporting large enterprise networks
• Experience in Service and Change Management
• Ability to present very complex technical concepts in understandable language
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
