Job Description

Business environment

The Monitoring and Analytics Platform (MAP) plays a key role in our middleware organisation, focusing on Metrics based monitoring, anomaly detection and Event Management.

Within our department, MAP team’s key product are Sentinel and ARGOS:

• Built on top of 3 opensource industry standards:
  • Prometheus (powerful timeseries engine and database),
  • Thanos (Long term storage and Prometheus clustering)
  • Grafana (dashboard creation/visualization User Interface).
     

• Providing a fully serviceable monitoring ecosystem, highly scalable and available, to collect metrics from all the layers of our ecosystems, from systems to applications, may it be on the Cloud or in our legacy systems, may it be hosted on on-premise Data Centers or in any other public Cloud providers, and allow users to create their own dashboards and alert on them.

Purpose

You will join a dynamic team with strong technical knowledge and leadership, working in SAFe/Agile, versed in Opensource – from usage to contribution – we do regularly contribute to the Opensource projects we are using, and also happen to drive one in collaboration with other big players of the industry, around our common monitoring needs.

We are looking for a skilled professional to reinforce the team and help driving developments and operations of our observability platform. More specifically, we want to adapt our current monitoring platform making it agnostic of Amadeus specifics so that it could be leveraged externally, in the context of an Open Observability Platform.

Key accountabilities

• Participate to refinement of user requirements for development of new or improvement of existing software solutions.
• Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
• Propose viable technical and scalable solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
• Develop software according to Amadeus Standards. 
• Conduct unit, package and performance tests of the software and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
• Participate in the validation / acceptance phase of the product cycle ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalize the product.
• Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.
• Support the end user in the Production phase by debugging existing software solutions in response to Problem Tracking Records (PTR) and Change Requests (CR) issued from Product Management or Product Definition.
• Find solution and adapt our platform to make it fully based on opensource component when possible.

Education

• University degree in Computer Science or related technical field

Technical Skills

• Solid experience in designing and developing software programs (Java, Go, C++, CUE, Typescript, JS).
• Experience in contributing to Opensource projects is a must.
• Experience with Cloud computing (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes) is a must.
• Experience with Golang is a plus.
• Experience with Prometheus or other Time Series Databases is a plus.
• Experience with SAFe is a must.
• Solid project management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation combined with good communication skills, with fluency in English both written and oral
