Senior Software Engineer - Backend Developer

We need an experienced software engineer to help us build the backend API layer for our pharmacy associates to access Health & Wellness services.
You will be a hands-on self-starter with extraordinary technical skills and a passion for helping make engineering teams effective.

Responsibilities• In this role, you would help develop and mature our GraphQL backend orchestration layer,
while working closely with the mobile team and other backend teams.• You would help drive architectural changes to the layer that powers the android apps that associates in walmart pharmacies use• Design, develop, test, release, and scale changes to our backend orchestration layer• Work closely with both android and backend engineers to help accelerate development velocity• Collaborate effectively with other technology teams and architects to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas• Develop thoroughly tested code and conduct quality assurance on all new code
Qualifications• 4+ years of experience in building systems using a major language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Go in production environments• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or related
field• Experience in Kotlin/GraphQL is a huge plus though not mandatory for the role• Experience building REST API / GraphQL APIs at scale• A passion for learning and sharing knowledge alongside teammates, with self-motivation and keen attention to detail• Experience with public cloud and cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Kubernetes)• Experience with CI/CD using Jenkins and Docker• History of mentorship and technical leadership a huge plus
On a daily basis you will:• Join standup with the team• Write code and tests• Provide feedback on your teammates' pull requests• Gather new feature requirements from other domain leaders
