Senior Software Specialist

Belcan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Specialist with a focus on network support and database/data tools to join our dynamic team in Merritt Island, FL and Denver, CO. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in network infrastructure management, database administration, and data tools development centered around camera systems for rockets. Your primary focus will be on optimizing network performance, ensuring data integrity, and developing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include KSC network test procedure development, coordination of network testing activities, and resolution of camera streaming and configuration issues. Additionally, you will be instrumental in maintaining and improving our Instrumentation Database (IDB), implementing architecture improvements, and overseeing the transition to post ATF configuration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network administration, database management, and data analysis, with proficiency in tools such as Wireshark, MS Access, SQL, and Python, with 5-7 years of industry experience. Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential for success in this role. Job Duties:

* Experience in environmental testing (Vibration, Shock, TVAC, Acoustic)

* Knowledge of PLM and CM systems (e.g., Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter Equivalent)

* Strong system/product integration skills

* Ability to coordinate with vendors/suppliers and manage qualification testing

* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills

Required Qualifications:

* US Citizenship or a US Person (permanent resident) required

* Up to 25% travel between Denver and Florida

* May be required to work an occasional night or weekend due to a shift in the test schedule

Network Qualifications:

* Experience with network infrastructure management and configuration

* Proficiency in tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and network gateways

* Knowledge of network protocols including UDP, TCP, SSH, and ICMP

* Familiarity with Windows and Linux Command Line Interfaces (CLI)

* Experience in configuring network interfaces and troubleshooting network issues

* Nice to have: familiarity with IRIG 106 Chapter 10 data recording standard

Database Qualifications:

* Strong proficiency in MS Access, Excel, and SQL

* Experience in database administration and architecture design

* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and VBA

* Knowledge of IRIG 106 Chapters 9, 10 & 11 and data type formats

* Experience in data analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation

* Ability to develop and implement database updates and enhancements

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

* Certification in network administration or database management

* Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)

* Proficiency in scripting languages for automation

* Knowledge of cybersecurity principles

* Experience with data visualization tools
