ASRC Federal Broadleaf Division is searching for a Sr. Strategic Communications Specialist to join its contract in Arlington, VA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Possess the skills and ability to conduct event management, conference support, brand and information campaign development and management.

  • Assist the customer or designated Government lead with developing and implementing strategies for providing programmatic information and support to 'end user' customers and/or customer support liaisons in order to increase awareness and understanding of specific programs, products, initiatives or changes. Research, write and edit articles highlighting the programs and services of interest to the internal audience.
  • Conduct interviews at all levels of the organization to obtain information used as the basis for articles of interest.
  • Generate internal interest articles for publication that support strategic communication goals and objectives.
  • Develop and recommend timely content for social media sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  • Prepare, write, update and maintain fact sheets, FAQs, messages, presentations and articles tailored to specific topics as assigned and approved by the customer.

  • Coordinate, schedule and facilitate opportunities to hare program updates via speaking engagements, exhibits, web-based platforms (DCS), VTC, etc. that promote a two-way exchange of information and feedback.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a range of military personnel and audiences, to include senior medical staff and management.

  • Microsoft Office skills required as well as ability to work within military/government proprietary databases and applications.
  • Has a working knowledge of the NGB, ARNG, ARNG Directorate Staff, and ARNG G-4.

CLEARANCE LEVEL:

  • DoD Secret Security Clearance

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Or four (4)+ years of experience in DoD Public Affairs, marketing, public relations, journalism, or strategic communications

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

  • This is a senior level position working at the Army National Guard (ARNG) G-4 to support enterprise communication. The position serves as technical writer, photographer, layout designer, senior editor, and publisher for the ARNG G-4 Directorates quarterly "LOG Focus" newsletter. In this capacity the position collaborates with ARNG G-4 leadership to determine themes and desired articles, coordinates article submissions with subject matter experts across the ARNG logistics community, and reviews and edits all article submissions to meet professional standards, lays out and ultimately publishes the newsletter to all fifty-four (54) States, Territories, and District of Columbia. The position serves as ARNG G-4's Guard Knowledge Network (GKN) website Site Collections Administrator. In this capacity the position is responsible to design the website layout, review and maintain website content, and provide Tier 1 level technical support across the ARNG G-4 including two (2) Divisions, ten (10) Branches, multiple teams, and two (2) offices in offsite separate commands. This position also coordinates and collaborates with the ARNG Chief of Staff's (COS) office to develop and facilitate the National Guard Bureau (NGB) leadership, mentorship, and professional development program. In this capacity the position collaborates themes, topics, and program events with the ARNG COS. This position solicits and coordinates event participation for external senior leader (e.g., Flag Officers, Senior Executive Service Civilians, recognized special field Subject Matter Experts). This position coordinates and facilitates mid-grade level peer-to-peer professional development engagement forums. This position designs, manages content, and maintains the professional development and mentorship program website. Finally, this position assists in coordinating, administering, and facilitating the ARNG G-4 Logistics National Workshop (LNW).
