Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager

We are looking for a Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to join the Corporate Strategy and Development (CSD) division here at athenahealth. In this role, the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager will lead the development and execution of strategic partnerships within the digital health space. The ideal candidate will have expertise in strategy consulting, business development, data analysis, and the healthcare industry. This individual will be responsible for identifying and implementing high-impact partnerships, managing the full partnership lifecycle, and driving revenue growth. The Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager is a pivotal role for an experienced individual seeking to make a measurable contribution to the company's success.

The Team: The Corporate Strategy and Development (CSD) division was formed to play a critical role in helping to drive athenahealth's growth agenda. The division's charter spans strategy, partnerships (athenahealth's Marketplace and strategic partners) and M&A. Our team is a high-visibility and high impact group that will interface across all levels of the company.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling business cases and forecasts to justify potential partnerships in the digital health space
  • Conduct complex analyses to assess market opportunities, competitor landscape, and potential risks associated with digital health partnerships
  • Utilize market research, competitive analysis, and internal data to identify high-potential digital health partners aligned with organizational goals and industry trends
  • Leverage data analytics to assess partnership feasibility, potential impact, and risk factors. Implement a robust system for tracking and analyzing partnership opportunities throughout the pipeline
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, sales) to ensure partnerships align with overall organizational objectives
  • Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for partnership selection and prioritization, promoting buy-in from key stakeholders

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, corporate strategy and business development, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and healthcare industry knowledge
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and managing strategic partnerships that drive innovation and growth within the healthcare sector
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct complex analyses and translate data into actionable insights specific to the digital health landscape
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders in the healthcare and digital health space
  • In-depth understanding of the digital health industry, its key players, and emerging trends
  • Experience in the development and implementation of partner structure frameworks specific to digital health partnerships
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling and business case development
