Job purposeThe North Americas HR Shared Services Director will be responsible for establishing and leading the HR Shared Services team in delivering high-quality HR services to the North Americas organization. The director will be responsible for managing the HR Shared Services team, overseeing the development and implementation of HR processes, policies and systems, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws. The HR Shared Services Director will work closely with other HR leaders to ensure that HR processes are aligned with the overall business strategy.
Job purpose
The Shared Services HR Director of North America will be responsible for establishing and leading the HR Shared Services team in delivering high-quality HR services to the North Americas organization. The director will be responsible for managing the HR Shared Services team, overseeing the development and implementation of HR processes, policies and systems, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws. The HR Shared Services Director will work closely with other HR leaders to ensure that HR processes are aligned with the overall business strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and lead the North America HR Shared Service Center (SSC) in collaboration with other regional and country HR leaders.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve HR service delivery, drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems, leveraging technology and other resources to streamline HR service delivery and improve the employee experience.
- Manage a team of HR professionals responsible for providing HR services to employees across the organization in US and Mexico, including HR administration, employee data management, benefits administration, and payroll.
- Ensure that HR policies and procedures are efficient, effective, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. Drive change management initiatives to ensure the successful implementation of new HR processes and policies.
- Develop service level agreement and implement performance metrics to track the effectiveness, monitor and evaluate HR Shared Services performance against service level agreements, key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with IT and HRIS team to ensure that HR systems are optimized for efficient service delivery.
- Develop and manage the budget for the North America HR SSC, ensuring that costs are within approved limits.
- Lead Auburn Hills HR Operation team to provide site HR support to multiple BUs and functions on the sites.
- Support integration and policy/process harmonization for M&A deals.
- Monitor and stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in HR Shared Services and incorporate them into the Shared Services strategy and practices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and service providers as needed.
What we are looking for
- You have Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- You have 12+ years experience in HR management, with a strong track record of success in HR Operations and a deep understanding of HR policies and procedures, employment law, and HR technology (Workday preferred).
- You have considerable experience in establishing and streamline processes, driving change and continuous improvement.
- You have presence and command; you are a good communicator and can adjust in any situation
- You are a natural influencer; you are connected and build relationships easily and you know how to navigate complex matrix structures
- You are resourceful & resilient when operating in changing, fast paced and sometimes uncertain environments.
- You approach work with a mindset of continuous improvement, collaboration, customer focus, flexibility, positivity, and engagement across the team.
- You are a role model in building effective and diverse teams, and developing your team
- You are agile in your approach and can be flexible based on business and people needs.
- You have a growth mindset, open to change and new ways of doing things
- You are fluent in English, Spanish speaking is preferred.
