Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to fill the role of a SharePoint and Power Platform Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering Microsoft SharePoint enterprise environments, as well as SharePoint Online. In addition, they will work with Teams, OneDrive, Azure, and PowerApps. The main responsibilities of this role include designing and developing/customizing solutions according to Microsoft guidelines to meet business requirements using platforms like SharePoint, Power Platform, Azure, Teams, OneDrive, and Power BI. The candidate will collaborate closely with the business to understand their needs and contribute to a strategic approach for achieving their goals. The role requires a proactive approach to learning and staying up-to-date with new technologies and industry-standard certifications. The administrator will also be responsible for periodic outage and disaster recovery testing, as well as regular patching of applications/systems to maintain security and minimize application impact.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge and experience administering and managing Microsoft SharePoint enterprise environments
- Experience and knowledge with SharePoint Online administration
- Hands-on experience with Teams, OneDrive, Azure, PowerApps
- Designing, Developing/Customizing solutions per Microsoft guidelines to cater to business requirements using platforms like SharePoint, Power Platform, Azure, Teams, OneDrive, Power BI
- Work closely with the business to understand requirements and help with a strategic approach to accomplish
- Able to work collaboratively and independently in a mixed-skillset environment
- Drive issues through closure, engaging all appropriate resources; lead technical bridges and provide troubleshooting direction for complex technical issues.
- Identify gaps and create/update operational procedures, policies, and processes
- Create data and metric systems to track operational workflows; maintain records of results and feedback; analyze data and metrics, identify problem areas, and provide actionable insight to management
- Handle all application deployments and builds in staging and production environments
- Ensure team members and customers adhere to approved processes for managing application deployments, support tickets, production outages/impairments, Kanban boards, infrastructure builds, and application intake
- Recognize application flaws and partner with development teams and vendors to ensure defects and required enhancements are completed
- Avidly seek out learning opportunities both as a technologist and a lead, ready to assimilate new technologies; pursue relevant industry-standard technical certifications and education opportunities
- Perform periodic outage and disaster recovery testing for supported applications to enhance readiness for production incidents
- Perform regular patching of applications/systems to mitigate vulnerabilities; ensure that all maintenance activities are properly validated to minimize application impact
- Recommend designs for new products or architectural changes to existing products
- Work with development teams and application owners to ensure all applications comply with privacy, security, and accessibility requirements
- Serve as the team lead on multiple projects, often spanning different engineering disciplines within the organization
- Create and maintain all application monitors and alerts; respond promptly to alerts
- Act consistently as a technical lead and subject matter expert
- Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Identify and champion operational improvements to increase the stability, reliability, and availability of applications
- Make critical operational decisions (rollbacks, break fixes, failovers, etc.) during outages and/or impairments

Education
Bachelor's Degree
