Job Description

Looking for a candidate that has a minimum of 3 years’ experience with silk screening to help us expand our plastics decorating capabilities. This position will maintain silk screen and pad printer machine processes and will help to develop improvements, assist with planned maintenance, troubleshoot unplanned machine malfunctions and resolve, institute machine safety improvements, lead performance improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operations.

Main accountabilities and tasks

• Set up and basic operation of silk-screening machines.
• Generate silk screens – burn, coat, and wash screens.
• Handling of inks – mixing inks, process ink usage and proper disposing of inks.
• Ensure quality of the product produced and proper documentation of quality.
• Proper handling of product and develop better cost-effective methods to packaging.
• Production reporting
• Working on a team to improve the efficiency and quality of the operations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical principles, practical troubleshooting,
• Identify root cause of quality defects and develop corrective actions. Then execute the installation of the corrective action.
• Identify safety problems and develop solutions.
• Capable of lifting a 30-pound box using safe lifting technique and able to work on and around machinery using tools in a safe manner.
• Able to stand and work a 12-hour shift.
• To be able to work safely and follow all safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing area and use cleaning tools & devices.
• Work with other people in a respectful manner.
• Proactively engage and support company initiative designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection, and continual improvement.

Qualifications

Work experience: 3 years’ experience in a silk-screening manufacturing environment preferred

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Secondary technical training desired. Other:

• Bi-Lingual – English/Spanish
• Ability to assertively and efficiently multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership skills, team, and relationship building
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, Excel, and e-mail systems
