Site Operational Team Lead

Job Summary

In this role, you will report to the Manager, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel - and our customers - to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Waltham, MA 02401

Shift: Mon to Fri, ~7:30 am - 4 pm

Wage: ~$31-33 per hour, doe

What we're looking for:

Education: High School diploma or GED is required. Associate degree or undergraduate degree in business or science related field is preferred.

Experience: 4+ years' experience in customer service, purchasing, and/or account management.

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office experience required with intermediate proficiency in Excel required.

Qualifications:

• Covid-19 vaccination required.

• Effective communication, both oral and written required. Bilingual: English/Spanish strongly desired.

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to display a professional, can-do demeanor required.

• Able to lift 50 lbs.

• Proactive thinking with the ability to prioritize tasks, self-manage and motivate, in order to meet goals.

• Confidence to make sound business decisions with limited consultation with manager.

• Driver's license required.

• High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures required.

• Must be flexible, adaptable, and multi-task oriented.

• Some experience with ERP Systems, purchasing, and inventory management strongly desired.

• Cross referencing and inside sales experience strongly desired but not required.

• Previous experience managing associates desired.

• Forklift Certification is a plus.

• Spill containment, IATA, DOT, Hazwoper, GMP, GLP, CPR, OSHA training preferred.

• Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances required.

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.

• Coaches and motivates team members to successfully perform job requirements and to meet / exceed goals and objectives.

• Encourages through mentoring, individual professional growth and team growth.

• Management of open order status reports, metrics and department reports, and SOP/SOW maintenance.

• Provides training and development as well as back-up to associates to perform required tasks.

• Performs administrative duties such as providing performance management input, timecard review, vacation scheduling, etc.

• Creates and maintains: SOP's, SOW's, SPI's and KPI's.

• Provides customer reporting and data analysis.

• Acts as a liaison between customer, Avantor services and sales.

• Other duties as assigned.
