Site Reliability Engineer

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at NN, you will play a critical role in assessing, improving, and ensuring the reliability of various platforms and applications across teams. Your expertise in reliability engineering combined with strong DevOps skills will enable you to guide teams toward adopting best practices and building resilient, scalable systems.

You will help teams conduct Well-Architected Framework assessments and a custom-built reliability assessment to determine current levels of reliability and identify improvement areas. Based on these assessments, you will take a hands-on role in implementing solutions that enhance system health, monitoring, security, and overall reliability.

As an SRE, you will be responsible for:What You Will Do:

• Reliability Assessment: Conduct Well-Architected Framework assessments and an internal reliability assessment to evaluate system reliability and identify gaps.

• Hands-on Reliability Engineering: Implement best practices in log aggregation, component health dashboards, monitoring, alerting, and security (including threat modeling and security tools like Static Application Security Testing (SAST) in CI/CD pipelines).

• Infrastructure and Pipeline Management: Set up or enhance CI/CD pipelines, ensuring they adhere to security and quality standards, with quality gates and proper coding standards.

• Monitoring and Observability: Build robust monitoring and alerting solutions, ensuring that teams have clear visibility into system health.

• Security & Compliance: Work with teams to integrate security measures, such as threat modeling and ensure adherence to secure coding practices, Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and compliance requirements.

• Coaching & Mentoring: Act as a reliability coach, empowering teams to take ownership of the systems you help them build. Provide ongoing guidance on SRE and DevOps practices.

• Internal Consultancy: Function as an internal SRE consultant, working across different teams to assess their current state and provide hands-on assistance in implementing reliability and DevOps best practices.

Who You Are:

• You are a Site Reliability Engineer with strong DevOps expertise.

• Hands-on experience in setting up and managing log aggregation systems, monitoring, alerting, and ensuring component health across platforms.

• You have strong skills in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation, Terraform).

• Deep understanding of the DevOps lifecycle, including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and security integration (e.g., SAST).

• You have experience working with teams to improve system reliability, mentoring developers and operations staff in adopting SRE principles and practices.

• You’re passionate about creating scalable, reliable systems and thrive in environments where you act as an internal consultant across different teams.
