Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Advisory Db2 for z/OS Developer y ou will be responsible for designing and building an integration testing infrastructure for Db2 for z/OS and Db2 for z/OS tools creating and executing thorough integration test scenarios across Db2 for z/OS and Tools portfolios and perform system programmer tasks. You will work with a team of highly skilled professionals to ensure the performance and availability of products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build an integration testing infrastructure for Db2 and Db2 tools including moving to new LPARs and setting up the coupling facility
• Perform z/OS system programmer tasks such as maintaining sysplex LPARs DASD storage management using DFSMS HSM RMM and VTS.
• Create thorough test plan across portfolio based on customer usage scenarios
• Develop and maintain unit test cases functional level test cases and automate these test cases to ensure the reliability performance and security of the system.
• Analyze execution results to find a way to improve functional coverage
• Collaborate with other teams within the organization and leverage current systems and tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers on the team.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that all code is thoroughly tested and documented.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in database management and mainframe systems and provide guidance on best practices. Provide documentation and training to the organization as needed.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree above in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field
• At least 8 years of experience developing experience in database or mainframe areas.
• Strong proficiency in Db2 system programming and SQL programming JCL and REXX
• Strong proficiency in low-level programming using C/C++ and/or COBOL or Assembler or PLX
• Knowledge of z/OS and the various components such as USS TCP/IP RACF HSM DFRMM and the VTS
• Have an understanding of the system programmer discipline and familiar with managing RACF and Unix system services.
• Experience in software development lifecycle methodologies such as Agile Waterfall or DevOps
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the globe.
• Excellent problem-solving communication and leadership skills
