You will be office based working with senior software engineers who will help you integrate into the team the department and wider IBM. Your Role and Responsibilities
“MQ is used by many of the world’s largest companies including banks airlines and insurance providers. As part of the MQ ops team you will be responsible for ensuring that every version of the product that is released exceeds the high level of quality that our customers demand. You will be responsible for MQ’s testing infrastructure which will include analysing test failures improving the infrastructure and writing new tests and test automation. There will also be opportunities to work with our customers to ensure that our testing reflects their needs. The role seeks good levels of personal organization and the ability to work well with a distributed global team in a fast paced and exciting environment. You will be office based working with senior team members who will be able to help you integrate into the team the department and wider IBM. You will be required to communicate your status on a daily basis come up with creative solutions to problems and be flexible. Supporting the team where your help is required and to be able to demonstrate a positive attitude and a passion to succeed.

As a key member of our dynamic team you will play a vital role in crafting exceptional software experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of innovative features fine-tuning and sustaining existing code for optimal performance and guaranteeing top-notch quality through rigorous testing and debugging. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do and you’ll be working closely with fellow developers designers and product managers to ensure our software aligns seamlessly with user expectations.

As IBM MQ development team member you will –

• Design development and testing of key functionalities of the product.
• Apply problem solving skills to diagnose potential product issues provide thoughtful and expert advice to help mitigate problems and deliver solutions.
• Development of tooling to aid in enhancement of product experience.
• Design development and execution of code for quality assurance.
• Actively collaborate with both local and worldwide team members.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5-8 years experience in software development
• Good skills in Java/JMS C/C++ Python GoLang Ansible Terroform Docker Container Kubernetes etc.
• Knowledge in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting bash scripting Perl python etc scripting.
• Demonstrable coding skills detail oriented thinking and creative problem solving skills
• Ability to pickup product and technical skills quickly and become productive at the earliest
• Passion to code development solve complex engineering problems and help customers

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Exposure to dev/diagnostic tools and processes (Eclipse RTC git GDB VisualSudio Windbg Wireshark)
• Exposure to agile development methodology and tools (RTC/git/Salesforce)
• Experience in software development problem solving & diagnosis
• Exposure to DevOps development will be plus
