Job Description
Overview
The SDET IV is the lead level Engineer within the Testing Organization. Main responsibility for coordinating and organizing the activities involved in testing and solving testability problems. Utilizing their skills to identify risks and potential defects within the software components and or systems.
Responsibilities
- Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
- Design automation scripts
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
- Analyzes and understands requirements, devise a test strategy to adequately cover the requirements, develop high-level test scenarios that implement the strategy, elaborate scenarios into detailed test cases.
- Review test artifacts with QA and Development team members, and edit accordingly
- Work with user and partner teams to develop automated test scripts and extend the automation infrastructure
- Collaborate with the business and development teams to produce requirements that are well-documented and clear
- Maintain subject matter expertise for the systems under test and use that expertise to create, maintain and extend the test case library
- Participate in team process improvement to make sure everyone understands development lifecycle
- Functions in a Lead role for large-scale complex testing efforts by consulting and designing automation fixtures and frameworks.
- Coaches and guides others in constructing, maintaining, and supporting test harnesses, test data generators and analysis tools.
- Designs, Maintains and analyzes performance tests.
- Collaborates on highly complex efforts. Reviews progress with Solutions Architects, Project Managers, and Delivery Managers to address testability issues. Guides risk analysis efforts with testing teams to define scope and focus of testing efforts.
- Establishes readiness of specific skill needs with the COE.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology or related work experience 8+ years
- In depth knowledge of coding/programming languages and software development concepts
- Experience with Performance Testing tools, such as Load Runner, JMeter, etc.
- In depth knowledge of data structures, data management practices, systems interaction patterns and interfaces
- Ability to align local goals and direction with IT visions and strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve goals and accomplish work
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms for presentations and conversation
- Negotiation skills and ability to influence others by education and sharing information
- Stays current on emerging designs patterns, software development concepts and industry best practices
