Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with expertise in cloud native full stack development (AWS/Azure, React, .Net, Postgres) to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Software Engineer at Trimble Transportation, you will be part of the team in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable, and high-performance software for high velocity fleet management solutions in the Transportation division. You will collaborate with full stack teams to gather requirements, deliver technical solutions, work with an innovative mindset and ensure the successful delivery of projects. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and systems using NodeJS, React JS, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Docker, AWS and related technologies.
• Create well-designed and efficient APIs for internal and external consumption.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Identify and troubleshoot UI/UX issues and implement effective solutions.
• Develop database schemas and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and storage in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms, specifically AWS/Azure, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
• Write clean, modular, and testable code following software engineering best practices.
• Conduct thorough unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing to ensure the reliability and quality of software solutions.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement and automate CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and debug software defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies, frameworks, and tools related to software development, cloud computing, and microservices architecture.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and with stakeholders.
• Continuous learning mindset and willingness to explore and adopt new technologies.
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on React JS for front-end.
• Experience with Node.js backend technologies with exposure in API development.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development
• Experience working with Material UI or Bootstrap
• Experience with react state management libraries (eg: Redux)
• Experience with front-end build tools, such as Webpack.
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and front-end languages.
• Strong understanding of RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, PostgresQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., ElasticSearch).
• Experience with cloud platforms and knowledge of cloud deployment methodologies.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and related technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with event-driven design patterns and technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• .Experience with unit testing frameworks (Jest, Enzyme, xUnit), familiarity with Test driven development.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), code reviews, and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex software systems.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, practices and tools (Jira, Rally etc).
