At GrabFin, we empower the people of Southeast Asia, from consumers and drivers to every-day entrepreneurs, by ensuring financial inclusion for the underserved. The team is building solutions by enabling our partners (i.e. drivers and merchants) to get access to financial services (lending and insurance) products for their everyday needs.

Get to Know the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join our dynamic team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As an Android Engineer, you will maintain high-quality mobile applications for the Android platform. You will work with teams to provide user-friendly mobile solutions. You will be reporting to the engineering manager.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design, and maintain Android applications using Java and Kotlin
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces
• Integrate RESTful APIs and handle data persistence in mobile applications
• Implement unit tests and UI tests to ensure app reliability and performance
• Optimize application performance, battery usage, and data use
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and best practices
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of development processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in existing applications
• Work with the team to estimate project timelines and deliver features

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional Android development experience
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages
• In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Android app lifecycle
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and parsing JSON data
• Familiarity with version control systems, Git
• Experience with mobile app architecture and design patterns
• Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks for Android
