Job Description:

Develop new software, and upgrade / maintain existing software to meet customer and project requirements for the L3Harris driving simulators. Candidate will work on small software engineering team as well as independently to accomplish assigned tasks. Duties include testing, integrating and documenting assigned projects. Will work primarily out of the L3 building located in Salt Lake City, UT, with part-time remote-work accommodated.

Core responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:

The successful candidate will work in small development teams that are tasked with implementing new features and capabilities planned for inclusion in the simulation-based training products. Work involves developing and maintaining software applications related to automotive simulation, primarily using C# and C++ on the Windows operating system.

The work will consist of developing new software and upgrading existing software to meet customer and project requirements using software engineering standards and tools. This also involves unit testing, system integration, and creating and maintaining software documentation.

Essential Functions:

• Develop new software, upgrade and maintain existing software to meet customer and project requirements for the L3Harris driving simulator product line

• Work with a small software engineering team as well as independently to accomplish assigned tasks

• Work well in an agile environment with little supervision

• Integrate with hardware and other software modules

• Emphasis on testing and documentation

• Develop high frame rate object-oriented C++ / C# applications in the Windows OS environment

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or closely related discipline and 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-secondary education and 6+ years prior related experience

• Understanding of Object Oriented Design (OOD) concepts

• Experience with real-time application development, including threading

• Background in GUI design or 3D graphics

• Good written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience with 3D graphics rendering engine programming and API's

• Knowledge of physical modeling (physics-based code)
